Isaiah 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: This was written hundreds of years before. Eratosthenes or Ptolemy. This program left out that Isaiah was the first to announce this fact and should be credited.

This is a really interesting 3-parts documentary, reminding how concepts on what man could see in the sky were created. Some are well known, some forgotten and this is a good reminder of the big changes that occurs in our understanding of the skies - and on our own importance.

I have to say the special effects are a bit overused, but well, I guess that took a part of the budget and had to be leveraged.

Why do the producers of programs like Ancient Skies like to make the audio for the hearing challenged even more difficult to understand by playing unnecessary sounds in the background?

This is a three part mini-series on PBS. From the start of human civilization, mankind has looked up and weaved stories about the sky. The first episode looks at the different versions of the sky before the birth of science. The second episode looks at the expansion of knowledge as flat earth turns into a round planet. It follows the scientific journey to Galileo who changes the Earth-centric Ptolemaic system to the solar-centric Copernicus' heliocentric system. The third episode looks at the scientific development to the dawn of the Big Bang. This is an interesting way to see the advancement of science through human history. It's not necessarily anything new although I do learn little tidbits. The bigger aspect is seeing this big slice of the pie being presented in an easy to digest meal. At the very least, someone should sit Kyrie Irving down for three hours and maybe he'll learn something.
