Avis à la une
At first this appears to be a B-class alien movie. Then it appears to be a B-class romance movie. But the longer it goes on, the more interesting it becomes. By the time it gets to the science part-- FOR ONCE the writers offer a hypothesis that at least makes sense from a science / fiction viewpoint. That in itself was impressive, because it wasn't stupid. Such a well-thought-out, uncontrived plot element is very unusual in this type of film. I suspect they took this from established quantum physics theory; it is just too good to be a random story point.
Some of the acting is cornball, but still fun and tolerable. The real clincher / winner is the last 15 minutes of the movie, which likely could not have been better written or directed. This is often where a movie falls short; those last minutes can make or break a film. Fortunately for this one, it makes the film in a large way, and turns what might have been a UFO turkey into an unusually enjoyable winner.
This is one of those rare low-budget sleeper flicks that is well worth watching.

This is an indie film that paid close attention to production values, had good, logical locations, and there were some interesting scenarios that conveyed an intelligence not often seen in smaller films. I love watching indies to discover new, up-and-coming talent, in front of, and behind the camera. This film accomplished a lot with a micro budget, which I enjoy seeing. The lead actress, Gracie Lacey, is enormously appealing and I thought her work was very good. Her counterpart, Michael Carico also does an admirable job, but some of the script didn't do his character any favors in the romance writing department. The writing is mostly good (not to mention intelligent), but there were instances where his character's reactions to Lacey's character were out of the blue, and (in my view), Lacey's alien character would/should have ended the relationship on the spot. Maybe her alien character likes great hair, because Carico DEFINITELY has a luxurious mane! Overall though, a nice night at the movies!
It's almost impossible for indie movies to compete against big budget Hollywood effects, but I had fun watching this one. If low budget SciFi is your wheel house, you might want to check this one out.
I didn't have any idea what to expect from this movie, but I loved it. It's not your typical flashy, frenetic, slam bang science fiction movie. There's not much flash but there's a lot of great story. The actors never seem like they're acting, they feel like real people. If you want loud fast moving commercial sci fi you'll be disappointed, but if you appreciate a good story with a variety of characters check this one out. I'm a sucker for good story telling and this is one great example. I want this in my collection.
Once in a while, filmmakers conjure up an unique story about aliens that goes about it in a different way.
I didn't know what to expect - because there was little indication that this would be one of stories that grabbed you by a different tangent of your psyche.
This was not a film that was IN YOUR FACE like most sci-fi movies that thrust you into special-effects. On the contrary, you find yourself in what seems like a normal, quirky tale of people and how they meet aliens.
But maybe I am revealing too much already.
Suffice it to say, it was not a masterpiece, nor a bastion of stellar acting or celebrities. It was a small story that should engage those thirsty for a story versus being bombarded by effects and over-the-top scientific terminologies.
And I truly enjoyed the ride and the protagonists.

- AnecdotesDaryl Anka is the person who channels the extraterrestrial entity, Bashar. Many of the plot points are directly from Bashar's messages. For example, Bashar has said, about 40 years ago, that movement through space was done because everything in space time has a vibration which includes a location component Superimpose a different location vibration on an object and that object just moves to the new location. He said an experiment might be performed with sensitive enough equipment. Take a copper sphere and tap it so that it vibrates, and record the vibration. Repeat in a new location. Move the object back to the first location, and after separating out the location component of the vibration, subject the copper sphere to the second location vibration and the sphere will move to the new location.
