Avis à la une
I really enjoyed the first movie and though this one was as good maybe a even better . The main characters were excellent and you really felt a good connection to them and story , a good mixture of fun , tears and feel good . A great watch.
As with most new to the shelf productions this one is no different and has to contain whatever the current social engineering is.
The funny thing is that they were banging on about all the old band mates not being politically correct enough, and breaching women's rights by stereotyping them, when all along this movie is stereotyping Cornish people so it's a bit rich!
Apart from that it was barely watchable, with a cameo by Chris Evans and cringe-worthy scenes from the Island Records bash and main stage at Glasto.. I wouldn't recommend this film to anybody who cares anything about Cornwall or sea shanties!

I wasn't the biggest fan of the first movie, watchable but boring... Maybe a 4 or 5 out of 10; but my partner liked it and there wasn't much to choose from at the cinema this weekend so I reluctantly agreed to go with him. I entered the theatre with low expectations...
Boy was I pleasantly surprised! Yes, it's not blockbuster movie, nor worthy of an Oscar (most Oscar winners are overrated guff anyway) and a couple of the supporting cast members are very poor in regards to their acting talent.
BUUUTTTT overall it's enjoyable, heart warming and you leave with a smile on your face.
Worth a watch for sure, and believable or not, it is actually a true story.

A watchable but unremarkable sequel which covers a lot of the same ground as the first film and in a similar fashion. The story focuses more on the issues of the "lead" singer than the band and with weaker characters, some poor acting and nowhere near as much charm overall. There's enough humour, sea shanties and idyllic Cornish scenery to enjoy, but it wasn't particularly good or memorable.
A vessel for promoting some lovely Cornish scenery. That's all it is. If you want an intelligent story with unique twists and suspense then it's a good job you will be stuck on the A303 getting to see it. This is a painfully predictable film with a story so lazy it is a little insulting.
There are some likeable characters and some credible acting talent. But this project was created for the sake of it. There was never an intention to create a real film here. Just another transactional activity aimed at earning a few pounds £.
Every scene, whilst pretty, just collided into the next. The story develops at a rapid pace, ignoring the need for logic or feeling. It just wants to go from A to B and doesn't care how little sense it makes or what well trodden cliches it spews out.
This is a Sunday TV movie at best. With the rain pouring down outside and the family isolating from the next plague.
I hope that it helps to promote Cornwall because it really is a lovely place to visit. Even without the massive CGI sunsets.
