Steirerwut

I haven't seen any of the Austrian LandKrimi or Steiermark crime thrillers before but was very pleasantly surprised to stumble on this episode (which works as a standalone show even if you don't know any of the characters).

Local farmer, very unpleasant by all accounts, and who managed to pick fights with almost everyone in his village (from his own brother and son, his neighbour with her alpacas, the owner of the local spa who wants to expand and build a golf course, to mention just a few) is found hanging in his barn after a night out drinking. Was it suicide, or murder? A team of crime investigators from the nearest city Graz come in to investigate, but have to deal with the local police who don't always do everything by the book.

A good mix of characters with some interesting chemistry between them, plus a few unexpected plot twists, make for a very enjoyable light hearted thriller. And the "eye candy", consisting of beautiful Austrian Styrian Alpine scenery as a backdrop, plus a farm full of alpacas, doesn't hurt either!
