I was intrigued with the first few episodes and continued to watch, although I'm just watching it now in 2025. Glaring issues for me were Cam's gf portrayed as this former street person who was picked up by a guy who gave her life. Then all of a sudden she becomes a baddie. She is supposedly more cunning and dangerous than people who have been in the game for generations. That didn't make sense. Also, no one truly checked her up to S2. The father was viciously mean to Cam with no background as to why. The young lady who worked for Cam should gone straight to him when the FBI approached her. He could have hired a top lawyer to help her out just like his gf did. Also, casting did a horrible job with choosing women who had the same features and hue. No shade, my daughter is their complexion, but I'm not so it stands out. Diversity matters.
I have tried & tried again to sit thru the horrific scale of acting, especially factoring in most of these actors have been in memorable sitcoms and movies in the past, but OMG...I keep talking to myself, asking, "why am I wasting time I can never get back with these weak actors?" It's unbelievable how pitiful the acting is. I try to support black producers and directors when they get a chance to have a huge audience, but this just reminds me of most of Tyler Perry's projects...Quantity over Quality seems to be his goal. It's embarrassing and I have only acted once in my life, but in this series, it seems as though acting experience is not required- just grab somebody off the street & stick a camera in their face. The wigs/weaves, booty implants and cheap shoes are as if they had their cousin Fee Fee to hook them up and even the grammar is sad; example, "I had seen", "I ranned away", "why you ant tell me." Like I said, it's embarrassing. I have always loved to act, but never had the opportunity. And Oh No Way, please don't say I'm hating. On What? I am the 1st to vfcrepresent my our people.
My first impression of the first few episodes was NOT good lol. I was very confused as to what exactly was going on, but about episode 4 it all started to come together and from there I couldn't stop watching! I'm ready for season 3!!!!!!!!!! Very good series, Lisa Raye was cut way too short, her acting is too superb to send her away so I hope she comes back in Season 3! Some of the acting is a bit poor, but all in all its a good show!
I really believe that all these 9/10, 10/10 ratings cuz this show is not that great!! The acting is the worst and considering this show is full of C-list actors, it should be better but I'll blame the director. This show seems like a bootleg of another show. Watch it if you're a fan of any of the actors or if you're just bored and want a few laughs
I really enjoyed watching Demetria in this series. I read a lot of reviews but when you can engage in one or two casts and you catch an attitude watching them, they are good.
