Résumé
Reviewers say 'She-Hulk: Attorney at Law' garners mixed reviews, praising Tatiana Maslany's performance and its unique legal drama-superhero comedy blend. The show's meta humor, fourth-wall breaking, and Marvel character integration are highlighted. Criticisms include inconsistent CGI, lack of action, and uneven humor. Some appreciate its attempt to diversify the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a female-led comedy, while others find it lacking depth and coherence. The series is deemed entertaining yet flawed, with varied viewer opinions.
Avis à la une
Like the title says, do you want a show about nothing, where literally nothing happens and just happens to have a slight super hero connection to it? Then boy do I have the show for you.
I like the character from the comics, and actually like the actress playing the role, Im well aware that She-Hulk is not a "super hero" and is known for being comedic and fourth wall breaking, so I ask where is the She-Hulk from the comics. Ive read and heard so many amazing pitches for this show and what it could have been, being a court room show, its actually kind of amazing how bad the writers have failed this show and character. I hope if they get a second season (and I actually would like that) that they get a writing staff that would do this show and character justice.

Watching the first episode was like going on a blind date with a woman where straight away you can tell that it's not going to go well. You decide to be polite and finish the meal but then she keeps on talking and you realize she has a whole lot of baggage and really seems to hate men. Including for no discernable reason the one she's currently dining with. Which makes you wonder why she ever agreed to go on a date in the first place, if she was just going to complain about men. So suffice to say that there will not be a second date, because as a non-green man, why in the world would I put myself through that ordeal again?
Marvel was once an unstoppable juggernaut of quality, with entertaining stories and yes even some thought provoking asides. But after 2019 it's like a totally different team is running things.
Marvel is just milking money and throwing content onto the screen with barely any thought or coherent structure.
I hope the show improves because there's talent here (especially Tatiana Maslany) but this show is failing its star and more importantly failing its audience.
But on a larger scale Marvel needs to course correct... and quickly, before all the trust and goodwill they earned is squandered.

Marvel Studies proclaims that this is a "sitcom" in all their marketing materials but it is painfully unfunny. The writing is juvenile, the quips and dialogue between the characters is neither witty, clever, or even interesting. Did anyone on the set laugh at this stuff as they were filming It, because if not they should have many adjustments to the script in real-time.
The main character is boring, she goes through no challenges and therefore experiences no character growth worth watching.
These first three 25 minute episodes have been an absolute slog to get though, since I'm often pausing to find myself doing something else.
Awful writing is a real letdown to what is an otherwise interesting character in the comics.

I have to admit I'm a huge fan of Marvel so I always look forward to everything they do and so She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was no different. It's definitely the worst of all the Marvel shows (well at least this or Echo) but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. It's different from the other Marvel shows and movies as this is a comedy but that doesn't make it bad, just different. Even though it's my least favorite but that's only because I love all the other shows so much. I don't understand some of these negative reviews. What did you expect and not get? Did you not watch the trailers or read the reviews? You knew it was a comedy going in. Tatiana Maslany does a great job as She-Hulk and Jennifer Walters. It wouldn't be the same with another actress. I also loved all the cameos from Hulk, Daredevil, Wong, Abomination, etc. Don't let the negative reviews deter you from watching this, if you're a Marvel fan then watch this.
Le saviez-vous
- AnecdotesAlthough each transformation from Jennifer Walters to She-Hulk and back is created using CGI, Malia Arrayah plays She-Hulk on-set for having reference of She-Hulk size (her face is replaced by the Tatiana Maslany using CGI). Maslany is 5' 4" (1,63 m) tall, while Arrayah is 6' 5¼" (1,96 m) tall.
- GaffesIn two of the first three episodes, in the courtroom they show the defendant seated at the table closest to the jury box. In American courts, the defendant is always seated AWAY from the jury, in the interests of safety. (This gives the bailiff more time to react should the defendant attack the jury.)
- Crédits fousThe closing credits are a sequence of courtroom sketches, which vary depending on the episode.
