"Climber's High" is supposedly a hiking jargon describing the adrenaline high that hikers experience while climbing a mountain, where fear turns into excitement and causes the hiker accelerate in pace.
An appropriate analogy for the reporter of a local newspaper in this movie, following the story of a tragic JAL plane crash in Gunma killing 520.
This movie was extremely well-directed, with constant excitement that left me on edge of my seat throughout the movie. This film successfully depicted the sense of urgency and pressure reporters experience in meeting the strict deadlines. What I really loved about this movie is that it focused on the corporate politic that existed in a local newspaper agency, and the power struggles that prevent journalists from publishing articles they want.
Very strong cast, story, and production. Recommended.
