Avis à la une
IPossessed scratches every itch that is craved by a fan of the horror/thriller/paranormal genre. The film weaves together familiar elements of paranormal stories, while maintaining a distinct identity. It is FULL of unpredictable twists and turns, and pays off with an intense, jaw-dropping closing scene.
The acting was also very strong. Meghan Carrasquillo was very endearing as Zoe (and terrifying post-transformation as the demon.) I actually wished there was more of her in the second half of the film. Carl Rimi as Tad excelled as a veteran who seems to be experiencing a hard time readjusting to civilian life. Carl did a great job portraying intense emotions for a character who is set up to be rather stoic.
Overall, the strength of the film lies in the unique twists and the bold plot choices. Definitely worth the watch!

First of all, I have to say that the movie's title sounds really stupid. But I still opted to watch the movie on account of it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, nor actually ever heard about. So in a sense, directors Jerry Sommer and Carl Rimi had every opportunity to entertain and impress me.
Now, the movie has Carl Rimi as a director, writer and star, and that is just something that raises a lot of red flags for me, as movies with one guy filling out each role such as this tends to be questionable movies.
I have to admit that it was amazing that writers Carl Rimi, Javier Mayol and Maurice Jovan Billington collectively could manage to conjure up such a weak and thin script and storyline. There was very little to be enjoyed throughout the course of the movie, and lots of things made very little sense, often times feeling like the writers had been working independently of one another, and thus creating a rather disjointed storyline.
I was not familiar with a single actor or actress on the cast list, and that was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie, as I enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances were somewhat fair, though I failed to understand why writer, director and star Carl Rimi had to be taking off his shirt in nearly every scene; it was just ridiculous.
The movie doesn't really use a lot of special effects, but I will say that whatever effects were in the movie were fair enough. Not great, but fair.
If you enjoy horror movies, do yourself a favor and don't waste 104 minutes on watching "IPossessed". Some of us suffered through this ordeal of a movie, so you don't have to; you're quite welcome.
And the movie's title still made no sense, even after having suffered through what passed as a horror movie for some reason.
My rating of directors Jerry Sommer and Carl Rimi 2025 movie "IPossessed" lands on a three out of ten stars.

I was pretty curious about this movie which, at the time of my review, reaches an average of 8.9/10.
Curious and also doubtful cause i'm quite a fan of horror movies, and i never heard of it. So i knew something was wrong. Well, this movie is.
The title has no freaking connection with the movie, the acting is not good (not really bad either, just "awh"), yet the photography is ok. The story goes in every direction, piling up stereotype elements of horror without developing them.
It's not awfull, but hell it doesn't deserve more than a 5/10 imo.
About the 10/10 ratings, many of the reviewers have only 1 rating, one more proof that they're fake.
(Pardon my english, i'm french and not used to review, i was just angry with all those bots so i had to notice you)

...sadly this isn't either. The opening sequence itself had me questioning whether I had read the wrong synopsis - what on earth? Some spectacularly cardboard acting from every actor that showed up on screen (aside from the cows - stirling job from them, setting the bar very high in the opening sequence!).
I just couldn't get past the cliches - spooky neighbour although in middle of nowhere? Check. Spliff smoking buddy? Check. Strange noises with logical explanations? Check. Did someone ask Siri or Alexa what the top typical ingredients for a horror were?
Definitely suspicious of the many 10 ratings on here, I know not everyone reviews every film they watch but seems wonderfully coincidental doesn't it.
If you've really got nothing else doing then by all means give it a go, expect the bar to be lower than a champion limbo dancer would attempt and then perhaps you'll be mildly surprised?

I felt the movie had a slow start but it definitely got better. I enjoyed the storyline. It certainly kept your attention and kept you guessing as to what was happening. There were a lot of little things to notice that were very cool. Once you got past the slow start, it got pretty exciting. The big negative for me was the acting - especially in the beginning and especially the main character. It felt like a bad horror film at first. Zoe and Buckley were top notch in their roles but Tad just didn't win me over. His acting felt forced. I really hope they have some success with this film as they have put their heart and soul into it.

- AnecdotesReunites Natalie Stavola and Carl Rimi who both starred in Love and Hostages. They were in two scenes together but they never acted opposite each other. The bar scene has him just pointing at her at the bar and the video call was film two different days.
