If you like fun and different series, you will love Bandidos. If you enjoyed historical titles like Ocean's Eleven or Indiana Jones, this new Netflix production will surely not leave you indifferent. Are you a fan of Ester Expósito? Well then, this will surely quickly become your favorite series. Together with the great Alfonso Dosal, she will fight to obtain the most precious treasure, on a path full of surprises and crazy situations. Without a doubt, one of the revelations of this year 2024, which everyone is talking about. Proof of this is that its second season has already been confirmed, which will continue these first seven episodes. Bandits, without a doubt a highly recommended series.
This movie is a very good action adventure. The acting is believable, the storyline is fun, and there are a lot of good twists. The lines that are supposed to be funny are funny. A good movie to just sit down and be entertained by.
Although the story is similar to other "find the treasure" stories the writing and comedic talent of the actors delivering the lines puts a new spin on the story.
The pace is good, no plot holes, and the directing takes advantage of each actors talents.
I had no problem with the dubbing.
The cinematography is excellent.
I hope it will be renewed for another season.

I quit halfway the second episode of season two. First season was sort of okayish despite some annoyance about timing and plot issues. The second season is downhill to the point where it became unbearable for me
The stories are simple and that's okay, but the way they unfold are close to ridiculous. The scenarios are filled with inconsistencies, plot holes and times issues. Fighting scenes are of boyscout level and the quality of acting is sub average for most of the actors.
The whole time it feels like you're looking at a tryout of a rough first draft of a movie. After having watched, one can only conclude that there's a lot of work to be done before airing this one. Alas, the producers decided otherwise.
Bandidos is a true insult to an intelligent audience.

This show exceeded expectations. I cannot begin to understand why it only has a 6.5 (at the time of review) rating. It has the right mix of action, comedy, interesting characters, adventure, and plot twists (though the last one is pretty obvious).
The "mix" is the key here. There have been a lot of similar shows and movies lately that botch this mix. Take "Obliterated" which went over-the-top humor during extremely violent scenes, making it repulsive and offensive to watch. Or the Brad Pitt movie "Bullet Train", which did the very same thing. It is OK to have some jokes here and now during the action, to give a sense of bravado. But the excessive comedy makes it cruel and unwatchable.
This show maintains an appropriate level of suspense, peril, levity, and comedy, that is just...works.
The characters are interesting, the story is engaging, the romances are endearing. Definitely better than a 6.5.

Bandidos, the new Netflix series that premiered in March 2024, is a wild ride through the Mayan Riviera. It follows Miguel, a charming hustler, who assembles a ragtag team of specialists to recover the legendary treasure of the Snake King. While the series boasts some fun action sequences and a charismatic cast, it stumbles with underdeveloped plot elements and pacing issues.
The show's strength lies in its ensemble. Alfonso Dosal shines as Miguel, bringing a roguish charisma that keeps you invested. The rest of the crew provide a good mix of humor and skills. The action sequences, though not overly plentiful, are well-choreographed and exciting. The camerawork adds a dynamic energy to the fight scenes and chases.
The treasure hunt itself feels a bit underdeveloped. The series spends more time establishing the characters than building suspense around the puzzles and dangers they face. The lore of the Mayan treasure feels teased but not fully explored. The series struggles with pacing at times. Certain episodes meander, while others rush through plot points. This inconsistency can leave viewers feeling disengaged.
The production value of Bandidos is solid. The cinematography captures the beauty of the Mayan Riviera, and the score effectively blends action-thriller elements with a touch of Latin flair.
Bandidos is a fun, albeit uneven, adventure. If you're looking for a light-hearted treasure hunt with a charming cast, you might enjoy this series. However, those seeking a more suspenseful and intricately plotted adventure may be left wanting.
It's a breezy weekend watch, but not a treasure trove of storytelling.
