You often get sensationalized versions of the Vikings and this period, but this factual series provides both an interesting perspective and yet enough fictionalized scenes that give viewers a connection to the history. Unlike some dry and just fact-driven programs, the presenters here are all well informed and personable. Lots of artifacts are shown and explained in a way that leaves you wanting to know more. A great addition to documentary evidence which gives a more solid and well-rounded version of Viking history. Instead of watching movies that depict these adventurous and expert sea-farers as marauding pagans, these kinds of shows enlighten us all.
