Avis à la une
Pacing disaster
Ok so we begin this season with two main storylines and loads of characters. The issue is the writers don't know how to introduce it all at once so as a pilot it feels a bit like a failure in the introduction aspect, however it does heavily entice me for what's next. The serial killer story is off to a strong start with some gruesome murders, but there's too many characters tied into one story in turn it leads to a lot of actors getting the short end of the stick. Russel Tovey is a great addition to AHS.and shines as one of our main leads. Now our next storyline is a hidden disease story line that follows predominantly Billie Lourds Hannah, as always Lourd is a treat and it was great to see her taking a main role again after last seasons disappointment. There's a lot of potential for this story arc but I haven't seen enough to fully judge it yet.
In conclusion the ideas, cast and story is there but there's so much the script kind of collapses in on itself. However this issues should hopefully resolve as the story progresses.

bit too much like american crime story
Amazing first episode. A bit too much like american crime story though, not my cup of tea. But other than that (and the annoying police) very excited for this season and I can already feel it is going to be an amazing 11th season.
The character I am most intrigued for is Theo (which is very surprising since Isaac played one of the annoying teens from death valley) and what is up with bid daddy? Very intrigued for that.
Also, great seeing Zachary Quinto back in ahs, since we had not seen him since all the way back in asylum. Also, kinda wish there were more sexy scenes though
Great step up from the trash that was double feature.

I completely lost interest after episode 11/4
Everything about this season became monotonous after the 4th episode; the characters were repetitious, boring and had no depth to their personalities. As a gay man, this program attacked every homosexual stereotype imaginable. Was I insulted? No, I just found the show unoriginal & borrowing from any gimmick the writers could desperately incorporate into their dull script. I even started doing household chores while the show was on because I completely lost interest. Even though this season did not hold my undivided attention, I managed to make my way through until the final episode & by this time, I couldn't have cared less what happened to any of the characters in the end. What a shame because I've been such an AHS fan all these years. This was as bad as listening to one of your most boring college professors lectures.
Tiresome
You've probably heard that American Horror Story is going downhill many times. There's no consensus about when exactly things went wrong but most people tend to think this way. The brand new season proves them all right. It lacks everything that made audience fall in love with the show in the first place.
New York, the 1980's. A local gay community constantly has sex in all sorts of creepy, germ-infested places, uses drugs and occasionally gets murdered by leather guy named (bear with me) Big Daddy. Also there's a new virus on Fire Island that affects deers. That's pretty much all events in this episode. Self-explanatory, as one of the characters states.
American Horror Story used to be genuinely scary and groundbreaking with its ensemble cast and fresh takes on familiar plots. Not anymore. A show that has a killer named Big Daddy and that wastes screen time to explain what the handkerchief code is can't possibly be chilling or, at least, taken seriously. Season 11 just started but it already has the potential of becoming another nail in the show's coffin.

Doesn't feel like American Horror Story anymore
Back in the day AHS used to be scary and now it feels like I'm watching some PG-13 crime drama. There are a lot of queer characters this season, which would have worked if they weren't so unlikebale. There aren't really any old AHS faces, apart from Denis O'Hare, Zachary Quinto, Billie Lourd and few other ones. I so feel bad hating the season already beacause we are only two episodes in and things might change. To be honest I just really don't know how to feel about it. Season 10 was awful and I'm kinda hoping this seasons won't be the monstrosity season ten was. I guess maybe it might be time to finally conclude the show and let it go in peace. I know that people love Ryan Murphy, but it feels like he is way to focused on other projects like The Watcher and Dahmer.
Le saviez-vous
- AnecdotesMarks Zachary Quinto's return to the series after being a regular for the first two seasons. Season two (Asylum) saw him as a main character while season one (Murder House) presented him more as a comical but strong side character.
- GaffesThe song "Calling You" sung by Patti LuPone's character in the bathhouse wasn't released until the 1987 film Bagdad Cafe, 6 years after the action of this episode.
