Mohan comes from a poor background and goes door to door selling pickles etc to fund his studies . He is the silent lover of Sadhana who studies with him. Herself and Naresh are lovers and wish to marry. Mohan always searches for ways to go near her but she is unaware of his feelings . When Naresh introduces her to his mother , she does not refuse but is not happy due to their status difference . One day when they are travelling by car an accident happens and his mother sees this opportunity to tell Sadhana that Naresh is dead . She also tells Naresh that Sadhana is dead . Both are very sad but go back to their lives . Sadhana relocates to another town and restarts her painting hobby . As luck would ave it she meets Mohan who by now has risen up with sheer hard work . He rekindles his hope in his heart and encourages her to paint and conduct exhibitions . She also wins prizes due to this . Finally he tells her his feelings and though she is not happy , due to her mother's persistence agrees . Meanwhile Naresh re enters her life unexpectedly . The final confrontation between Mohan and Naresh convinces Mohan that Naresh is indeed worthy of her and he gives away.The final sequences are shot in a picturesque hill temple . Sadhana is pretty and also emotes well in some scenes . Naresh is very good as a brat and impulsive , possessive lover . Mohan is very good first as a poor insecure quite student and then as a confident man who does not fear telling his feelings out aloud .
