    Definitely not better than actual movie

    There is absolutely no reason for this to have a higher rating than the original movie on imdb. This has objectively worse animation than the 2004 movie. Some people say "it's hard work animating", it wasn't any easier for people making the original movie. Someone could make the argument "the people who worked on this have less animating experience so of course it will be worse" but people just be rating content on an objective scale, and not based on the skill level of who made it. There's only one scene where the animation is ALMOST as good as the movie from 20 years ago, but other than that the animation is way worse. People have to stop congratulating the writing team behind this for making animation that has been easy to replicate and surpass for decades.

    What the heck?

    Ok this is the definition of destroying a classic master piece. I was hugely disappointed and overall the animation is just cursed to watch. Nickelodeon has gone down hill the past years but why this???? I'll stick to the classic thank you.

    SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

    A great animators Collab and a fantastic recreation of the original film. It was really fun to watch so many animation styles. And the best part is that this movie is made with passion and.

    For those who have seen the original but not this, I highly recommend it.

    Although the 2004 original is kinda better, this movie is exceptionally good and creative, even for a YouTube re-animation; and everyone involved in the project worked really, really hard. Not only that but this is also a genuinely great tribute to the creator of SpongeBob, Stephen Hillenburg who, as you all know, passed away a few years ago; and I think he would be very proud of this great and really creative movie. I will also happily take this over Nickelodeon's pretty mediocre tribute to Stephen, if you know what I mean. Overall, this movie's pretty genuinely exceptionally good and very creative.

    AWFUL!!!!

    This movie is terrible, They just changed the animation, and that's it It just doesn't work as a good movie the original movia is a masterpiece, but this is regettable, It's a copy and paste of the 2004 movie and it doesn't have any "nice or original" things, it's simply no good as a product. In any case, if you just want to see the different animation and that's it, watch it, they just copied and pasted it is sooooo overrated, it has nothing that is different other than design, I know that someone comes and says that it is pretty and all, but that is all I found simply overrated, it does not work as an original product.

      The fan project has had major problems with YouTube's copyright and COPPA bots within only a week of it being uploaded. The video was first copyright blocked by Paramount/Viacom within two hours of its upload, causing many supporters of the project to express their rage against Paramount/Viacom for their infamous copyright system despite the video being within fair use. The hashtag, "#Justiceforspongebob", trended worldwide on Twitter following the blocking. Later that same day, Paramount had lifted the copyright claim from YouTube. On May 5, 2022, the video was flagged as a "Made for Kids" video by the YouTube Bots, with YouTube deeming it as a "Kids" video solely for it being about SpongeBob. The video was blocked by Paramount/Viacom again a couple of hours afterward.
