10 ans avec Hayao Miyazaki

I am a big fan of Studio Ghibli and am very fond of diggig deep into the back story, animation and history behind a film. I think Kaku Arakawa perfectly captures the magic of animation whilst showing the ongoing struggles for everyone at the studio.

I am in no way, an exclusive anime fan, however this series is not just a tribute to Hayao Miyazaki's dedication to his craft and passion for storytelling but an admirable tale of how great things are built. Not only the viewers get an inside look at the creative process behind some of Miyazaki's most iconic films, the series also shows how hardworking Miyazaki is and how he spends countless hours perfecting every detail of his films. Miyazaki's love for his work is evident in every frame of his films. He puts his heart and soul into each project, and his attention to detail is second to none. His passion and rigor for his work are truly inspiring, and watching the documentary can teach us a lot about dedication and perseverance. It is a tribute to Miyazaki's incredible talent and his unwavering dedication to his craft and a low key tough love from a parent to his child's success.

I really enjoyed watching this film on YouTube. More engaging than a lot of the ghibli documentaries and it has thematic resonance and personal struggles which makes it really enjoyable to watch the master at work. It gets into the relationship between Hayao Miyazaki and his son Goro and how Miyazaki'a characters are a depiction of characteristics of his mother. Really shows that his films are not only personal but he is actively trying to change the world for the better by telling stories to make an impact on people he knows. Really makes me appreciate him as a flawed person and as the worlds greatest artist in the film medium. Either him or Charlie Chaplin. Can't decide who will have a greater impact and legacy.
