The School That Tried to End Racism

Very educational documentary, a lot can be learnt from both sides. Should be shown in all schools.

The trainers said they need to reach kids at this crucial age before their ideas crystallize in adulthood . They do a really good job teaching the little kids that society isn't fair. I wonder if Harvard's implicit bias test would have different results if children took it in different order (not doing positive white before positive black)

Amazing show. Watch with your kids! You can see how good, how heard, how validated all of the kids felt, having a deeper understanding of racism both in personal interactions and in society. It was so touching to see the kids of color have the space to put voice to their experiences, and to see the white kids gain empathy for their classmates who've experienced racism. Not talking about it is what creates ignorance. So highly recommended!

Why are the POC given the negative words first? I want to know if the results would be the same if you associated white people with the negative words first. I think the hesitance on the second half is affected by the brain having to quickly shift to an alternate solution and the anxiety experienced as the result of concern of being labeled racist as you realize that all the negative words are repeatedly being associated with POC. The test should be done both ways AND with random switches. Then I feel the results would be more accurate. I applaud the efforts that this issues takes all of us, whether we think it does or not.

Being a young black person, this was an incredible experiment to see. I absolutely agree that if we tackle the race issues from such a young age, we can see great results in the future. This show was so real. Ethnic background, especially black people, experience racism at really young ages. I'm so glad they made this show because it shows that it's okay to emphasize race. The world needs to stop pretending not to see color. I love this show. I hope they can continue the series, maybe go to school around the UK or the world, showing the unconscious bias. I would love to see this.
