Avis à la une
My sister suggested checking this show out I had only seen clips of. A overall good show, but a few things that just don't really speak to the way I enjoy stand up. Simon Talbot is a comedian that has grown a lot no doubt, but his brand of comedy that just don't speak to my brand being a bit too silly and not too thoughtful, even though this show gets close.
Simon Talbot goes to America to live his dream about preforming in English, telling us about the ups and downs in being in America.
I think the overall concept is good. I like the moral about what a Dane could learn from the American mentality and the other way around. Overall this is such a good premise, but the spliced in documentary with Simon being in America is just a bit unnecessary for the overall story and idea of the concept. We don't need to see the journey since you tell us about it afterwards anyway.
The overall deliverance is good here and I like to watch a comedian having fun on stage laughing with us and showing he genuinely thinks what he has is funny. That is a problem a lot of modern comedians run into being too stoic and like the show is an algorithm they wrote, cold and calculated. The only problem with the delivery to me is that the jokes are sometimes drawn out too long. Going way past the strong punchline that makes the joke just fell less impactful.
A lot of the selling of Simons comedy is his great mimic. He has a rubber face that sells so many jokes in the best way possible. This sadly is also a bit of the issue with the style of comedy Simon has since I don't always buy the too goofy brand of comedy. It works and I respect it, but it is in no way my favourite brand of comedy.
Overall enjoyable show but with a few things that just don't speak to me, but I could imagen fans of Simons brand of comedy find this show to be absolutely amazing.
