Ove Arup: The Philosopher Engineer

The best thing about this film, besides its remarkable subject Ove Arup, is that it is made almost entirely of interviews with friends and colleagues to whom he was an outstanding mentor and who are very impressive in themselves, including Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers but also less well-known people for whom the common denominators are professional excellence, humanity, the multi-decade stints most of them put in at Arup's firm, and interestingly the warm, richly detailed home environments in which they were mostly interviewed. Arup was clearly as beloved as he was impressive, and from the few clips of the man himself you can see why.
