Avis à la une
The most amazing scenery makes me want to go and visit Ireland! A power cast and floods of emotion brings a movie that in the beginning felt lost. It comes together in an unexpected way. A constant journey where you are at times wanting to scream and hard to watch but the ending can be described as powerful! A masterpiece! Well done.
I don't even know where to start, so much emotion was shown in this film. From sadness, to laughter here and there and then finally - love. I'll admit, tears were close but overall the film was amazing. The cast did a perfect job and I love the twist of Helena (who's from London) in a fully Irish film. I fear no one could've done a better job than Helena in this. I've been excited for this ever since the trailer released and I couldn't wait to watch it. Yes, I'll admit, the only thing at the time that drew me closer to watching it was Helena AND the fact that it was filmed in Ireland. Also love that it's based off the book too.
We hadn't heard of the film before we went to see it on a Monday night in summer, but the cast made it look promising.
Right up to the last 15 minutes this was a slow, dull, grim 5/10 watch and only getting 5 stars for the scenery and cast.
Helena Bonham Carter possibly masters an Irish accent better than Pierce Brosnan (who IS Irish, but been a long time away!), but both made a good job of their characters. The cinematography of the stunning Irish coastline is absolutely captivating.
Then suddenly, in the last 15 minutes at the end, it became a great film! No spoilers - but would I watch it again? Nope!

I did not know about this movie till I saw a poster in a local theatre. As I couldn't make that date I explored and went out especially to see it in brum
I'm so glad I did. Beautifully shot, breath taking scenery and wonderfully executed story. I can't wait to watch it again.so well cast. I can't believe it's not playing in more venues. Fionn has done real justice to the characters. Emotionally charged with great subtle humour. I have been a big fan of Gabriel Byrne and he didn't disappoint.

This is a story told with a gentle hand and a profound understanding of the human heart.
