Forced on the run, the psychotic family is forced to visit their psychotic relatives to hide out after one of their killing sprees goes viral on the internet, but as their old habits die hard and put the authorities on their trail have to put their killing skills to the ultimate test.
There was a lot to like with this concluding effort in the series. One of the strongest aspects of this one is the rather impressive storyline that carries a lot of action and not a lot of downtime. Getting the family with the killer and his aunt out on the road immediately where they take over a couple's car while the event's being live-streamed starts this off rather nicely and serves as the instigating incident for the police investigation. With the incident taking place over social media, the idea of the whole thing taking on a viral sensation with hashtag outbreaks, dedicated followers trying to solve their mysterious origins and serving as the main inspiration for the officers to follow their killing spree. As well, the rest of the family connections taking place here brings a lot of the storylines from the previous entries together in a pretty entertaining manner. Seeing how all the various family members are shown to come into the storyline, from the aunt and the killer who's been together for most of the series who come across the wild, flashy cousin who's just as unhinged and psychotic and in turn leading to the mother hiding out away from everything carries some nice continuity here. From offhand quips that denote interpersonal connections no one should really make or noticing about the other entries in the series serves to bring everything together in a great time. The other big aspect to like here is the other scenes here featuring the family in action is quite fun as the film's decision to give the family members numerous chances to take part is quite enjoyable. With the aunt taking on a wild, fun-loving party-girl looking for a good time being invading a college party in the woods is a rather fun sequence, much like the psychological torture scene with their other family member being introduced and tormenting the one victim in the brightly-lit room. A massacre of the agents in the middle of the field has quite a lot to like with the masked killer enjoying the action for once, and with a strong finale that brings out the series' interconnecting storylines nicely give the film a lot to like. There really isn't much wrong here with all the issues simply nitpicking overall. The frat-boy party that they invade tends to be quite unrealistic with the pushy quality the men exhibit towards the girls which admittedly makes for a suspenseful scene but still stands out for how far they get before being knocked off. Likewise, the fact that the majority of the action takes place featuring a distracting series of shaking camera movements that make for a difficult time taking everything in and making sure what's going on leaves a slightly distracting feeling. Otherwise, these elements are all that's really wrong here and they're not that bad anyway.
