Duel is a great example of powerful micro storytelling. While this micro short film is labeled as one minute, it actually runs closer to two minutes. However, the skillful use of slow motion makes it feel longer in a good way.
At its core, Duel is an ultra-short clip that reminds us there's always someone with a "bigger gun," whether it's real or a toy. The main character is a boy playing with his water pistol while trying to earn some money by washing car windows at traffic lights.
I believe this short film aims to highlight the different socio-economic groups in our society and send a message that violence, in any form, is never the answer.
