Wil Wheaton is perfect as The Ready Room host because his enthusiasm and his knowledge are real. Whether you loved or hated the Wesley Crusher character, Wil was a significant part of Next Gen, and through all of his personal ups and downs, he remained connected to his cast mates and to the franchise. While he didn't land a significant role in this latest Star Trek iteration, he managed to land as much total screen time as several of his former colleagues while making an important contribution to the community.
All that said, I'm hoping for the very long-awaited continuation of Star Trek: Assignment Earth, featuring Supervisor Wesley Crusher and Kore Soong. Make it so.

New episode means new Ready Room and that means bonus Trek for your week! It's just a delight to watch Will 's interviews and sneak pics. He's such a great host and fan.
As a life-long Trekkie, I enjoy Will's unabashed enthusiasm. It validates my own love for the series. It's fun to re-hash the episode and hear from the actors.
Will, I do enjoy most all of the discussion topics you cover. But I have a difficult time trying to watch while having to see the forced & over the top enthusiasm thats exhibited. I feel like I'm watching a show meant for children. Wish you would tone it down some. Sorry!!
Wil Wheaton not only knows Trek from the inside, as an actor, but is probably the World's Biggest Nerd Fan. He's fun, hilarious and enthusiastic. This whole show is a cross between getting a backstage pass and hanging out with your favorite fannish buddies. Great interviews and insights. Picard was Serious Trek, so it was great to see a lighthearted approach to the behind the scenes goodies, what it was like to make the show, and the kinds of crazy creativity that happens on set.

- AnecdotesThe first officially licensed Star Trek aftershow was called "After Trek" and hosted by Matt Mira which covered the first Season of Star Trek: Discovery. It failed, the budget was slashed, and the very first season of "The Ready Room" was the result. The first season had no behind the scenes and a very small set. Season 2 of "The Ready Room" got rebranded with Wil Wheaton and got almost the full budget back, complete with all kinds of behind the scenes video packages.
