Shishido and Tsuruno are in this

I love like a dragon gaiden, and these two actors; Motomiya Yasukaze and Yamaguichi Yoshiyuki, play Shishido and Tsuruno. I loved them so much in that, I decided to research them and watch the movies they have been in! Not many of them are avaliable in America or have subtitles, but this is one of the few that did. I thought this movie was funny and charming!! They are both so good in it! I really hope someday the Nihon Touitsu movies will be avaliable in America and have subtitles, because I really really want to be able to enjoy more content by them since I now want to watch everything they make. Please make this happen!! <3.

Comedy that's quirky, and then some

TOKYO DRAGON CHEF is a fun little comedy from the director who brought us TOKYO GORE POLICE, and I actually enjoyed it slightly more than that over-the-top effort. There's no wall-to-wall gore here, just plenty of surrealism in the story of a couple of ageing Yakuza who decide to go straight and open up a ramen bar. It's a low budget production packed full of cheesy stylistics and over the top acting and situations, but that's part of the charm. I particularly love the musical interludes, which are great, and wish there could have been more of them. If you like your comedy weird then TOKYO DRAGON CHEF is the film for you!
