Avis à la une
Well I watched this movie as I am a big fan of Engin Altan Duzyatan having watched his work in Dirilis Ertugrul and Barbaroslar. And he didn't dissapoint me, Although the movie isn't a masterpiece by any means it hits the right notes, you feel good watching it throughout and get emotional in many scenes.
The movie is about 2 brothers who were very close in childhood and get separated for some reason(Don't wish to spoil by giving the reason). Both brothers are excellent violinists. The elder(Ali Raza) is poor though and younger(Mehmet) is famous well recognised. The elder brother gets a disease and passes away leaving his 8 year old daughter(who is an excellent violinist herself).
Initially reluctant to have her but as the movie progresses Mehmet (Engin) and his niece Ozlem develop a special bond.
As the movie is about violinists the music throughout is amazing.
The characters and actors portraying them are good.
Engin Altan Duzyatan is one of the finest actors worldwide.

A simple plot, predictable plot..story that will tug at your heartstrings..although run-of-the-mill dialogues, a much cliche sequences with obvious gaps such as a missing depiction of child's reaction and emotions after losing her only parent, somewhat incongruous pieces in the story but overall the story glides fluidly, it is riveting that forces you to overlook the glitches.. filmed in Istanbul and good cinematography but above all, it is the violin that fills one's heart with joy and captivates through out .. the compositions are indeed a treat to the ears.. This movie will not leave you cold.
Move along.cynics. This movie isn't for you. During these bleak times, I'd rather watch movies full of hope and redemption, while not ignoring our darker, selfish natures. Believe it or not, even the worst of us have the capacity to change, and become more loving and caring people.
Several times throughout this movie, I predicted what would happen next, and yet I still had joyful chills when my predictions came true. In spite of its predictability, it accomplishes telling a story of selfishness conquering selfishness, without a single bit of cheesiness.
I went to bed happy, rather than filled with dread. What's so wrong with that?

This was a beautiful movie, quite honestly. I was in tears several times, laughing and just so engrossed in this uncle and niece relationship coming together. Yes it has its cliche moments, but the perspective of how a child really can change your life in many different ways was beautifully portrayed and I couldn't pull away from the movie regardless of how predictable it was. Just wonderful acting and beautiful music!
The first part of the movie was a bit boring. It didn't have to be so long. The first part leaves a big plot, but when we figure out what it was, it was completely forgotten in seconds, like it didn't even matter. Also we can't really see the development of the characters' relationship, it just happens. There were some parts when I actually said "whaaaaat?"
The ending was totally cliche. Some of the acting was pretty good. The girl wasn't amazing, but I think it was a difficult character for someone that age to play.
Now... the music! That made it all worth it.
So if you love music ou the violin, I think you'll like it. Not love, like.
