Bolt from the Blue

I would say kids as young as 8 would both enjoy the movie and not be scared or put off by the storyline. The comedic delivery from the characters and funny lines are delivered in a way that adults will chuckle along while the language won't offend the younger audience. Overall feels like the sort of fun from Back to the Future meets Ghostbusters meets Goonies. Really an all around fun movie that also has a positive storyline that parents will enjoy their kids being impacted from. I watched this with my 12yo as I wasn't sure if my 7yo would like it or be scared, but afterwards I wished I had brought the littler one along. Overall a wonderful movie from a first time director and producer, highly recommended!

Page Gomez was a bright spot and held the film together. She was a delight and I was surprised that this was her first feature film. The cinemetography was beautiful. The story overdid the eccentricty of the doctor and seemed to channel Ghostbusters and Back to the Future a bit too much and I did not develop sympathy for the doctor. Also, they had a lot of subplots and characters that were probably not neccessary and used screentime that could have been dedicated to better character development. All in all, enjoyable and I see a great future for the cast and crew. The Alaska setting with beached crab boats made for interesting backdrops.

OMG! What a great nostalgic feeling movie. The director and cast do a great job of bringing out that 80s/90s feel. The way movies in the past were grounded and extremely funny at the same time. I love films like this and miss the 90s feel.

It is very well written and acted. Production value is epic. The Cinematography is great. As well as the soundtrack.

I was lucky to catch this on a big screen. You will not be disappointed with renting this film. Jack's Feature Directorial debut is a good one! I cannot to wait to see more from him as his career continues.

No spoilers in the review so you just have to go watch this Sci-Fi on your own and trust you will be in for a happy surprise. The movie trailer also does a great job capturing the films essence without ruining the film.

This is the kind of movie that we need.

I was sceptical at first but I the story took me away. I love the heart.

Acting is believable as are the characters. The story is heartwarming and new. Whomever wrote these characters did an excellent job, only a few cliches. The location is a character all in itself.

Science is in the forefront and it's somewhat believable, it looks possible. There are some scenes that you can tell they used a green screen but the special effects are mostly practical.

The camp is top notch.

The reason I give this a 9 out of 10 is because I will probably not watch this over and over again. I will rewatch, however only a few times.

We need movies like these.
