Avis à la une
Caught this one on Tubi and have to admit that it took a little while to get going but it grew on me. Typically don't watch slower burns but this one was different and the ending is a certified banger. Everybody was believable - really well acted from top to bottom. Cinematography was top notch for something that sounds like it had a smaller budget. Setting was cool. And yeah, it takes a lit bit, but once it rolls into the last act, the blood is flying and it's a hell of a time.
Can't wait to check this one out again to see how all the threads work. Definitely check this one out if you like your horror with a bit of drama. A real indie gem.

I aim to save you some time here. Don't watch this movie. It is the sort of story where you think that you will stick with as something is bound to happen in the next five minutes. I am here to tell you that absolutely nothing happens for the first 90 minutes. I'm serious, there is just idle chat and people acting pretty stupid. Really, that is it, just nothing interesting at all.
The movie desperately tries to up the ante in the last 20 minutes but fails miserably as it is more like a comedy than a horror. Oh and there is some terrible overacting in the finale too. It was also hilarious that when the 'Monster' finally appeared the lights suddenly went out and starting flickering to basically hide the dodgy effects. This has a mark on here of 6.7 and this is a fix, trust me as 'Everwinter Night' is crap.

"Everwinter Night" is a brilliant blend of horror and comedy, skillfully crafted by Adam Newman. The film captivates audiences with its unique balance between chilling moments and comedic relief.
This film cleverly invokes traditional horror tropes while infusing humor.
The sharp dialogue and quirky characters invite laughter even in tense situations, enhancing the emotional impact of the narrative.
At its heart, "Everwinter Night" encourages viewers to confront their fears through an unconventional lens. Newman's innovative approach not only entertains but also prompts introspection, making this film a must-watch for fans of the horror-comedy genre.

Please take my advice and skip it. It was so boring that even at the climax ending I used fast-forward to get over with it.
It has nothing to offer. The story sucks and so does the script and the acting. After half an hour you hope that something will come up but it doesn't untill the last 5 minutes and what a dissapointment!
Some guys praisint it must be out of their minds. Comparing it to the Evil Dead! And classic comedy! Where the hell is that comedy?!
I guess people have diffrent tastes but this one must be the norm for bad taste.
Better spend your time elsewhere.
Don't say you were not warned.

As this film opens a couple stop off at a remote New England lodge to ask for directions... they don't come out alive. Thirty years later old friends Maddy and V are going away for a spa holiday together; things don't go to plan as Maddy's college friends, who V didn't know had been invited, show up and say that a group of wealthy young men had invited them all to stay with them for a few days at an exclusive lodge. V isn't pleased and it isn't long before displeasure becomes concern that something is off about their hosts. By the time we learn just how off they are it may be too late.
I thought this was a decent enough, if somewhat overlong, horror film. It opened well in the short prologue before introducing the main characters. V and Maddy are likeable, unlike Maddy's college friends who are irritating from the moment they show up. The premise is solid enough if not the most original and once at the lodge it drags somewhat more than necessary before the gory denouement. The cast is okay; I particularly thought Victoria Mirrer did a good job as V. The effects may have been fairly low budget and confined to the finale but it was nice to see physical effects rather than obvious CGI. Overall I'd say this is far from a must see but it isn't terrible either; worth watching once if you enjoy the genre.
