Avis à la une
I dont know how this movie managed to shock me so much with it's... everything really. I thought the peformances in particular from the main protagonists were great. The soundtrack was also great and really complemented everything. This movie managed to excel in showing the gritty, realistic life the less fourtunate face in the slums of Lagos. The self journey made by the main character from this spoilt brat to a genuinely good person, leaves me thinking that this is 10 out of 10 movie. Except. My one real gripe is that the twist at the end was pretty damn predictable, and that it kind of ruined the movie.
But overall, this is an underatted gem. Watch it.

Okay... Okay... Okay... I'm still reeling Nollywood has definitely starved us of good content, because, watching this movie, and I'm struggling to express myself. I believe I won't be reaching if I say that this is one of the best Nollywood movies I've ever watched (or at least from the new generation of Nollywood).
Are we to talk about the cast??? Wtfffffffff! I really don't get why Bimbo Ademoye didn't win best comedic actress at the AMVCAs, it makes absolutely no sense.
I don't care for Timini Egbuson (at least since the last season of Skinny girl in transit) but he slew his role and left no crumbs. Bisola continues to show how proficient she is at acting. Tina Mba!!! I'll just end up hailing the entire cast, because they delivered stellar acts.
The dialogue was refreshing. I fell in love with the words and the structuring of their sentences, the back and forth between Timini and Tina for the first quarter, the quips, the expressions... The comedic elements weren't forced and well-done.
The plot was good with a nice plot twist (I kept waiting to see how the story will be tied together, and the route they took was unexpected, kinda sour sweet too).
The slowly progressing love story of Sunmi and Todowede was so beautiful. I was a giggling, chuckling, grinning mess. It's also refreshing that the movie didn't hide behind dramatics and affluent nonsense Definitely an easy 9.5/10.

Very realistic, well told, beautifuly and 😅 brings various sort of emotions in between it kind of blends you with the characters themselves and last but not list very lessonful.
The acting was so good you're immersed into the movie, you feel the emotions of the characters, the story is beautifully told, The plot twist was well thought out. To be honest, the is my favourite Nollywood movie yet. Truly wonderful piece of work. Talents like this is needed in the Nollywood industry. Dem finish work abeg!
This movie was really good, and not just compared to Nigerian standard, it can hold its weight internationally. For me, I use it from the lens of the multiverse. The protagonist's consciousness was thrown into an alternate reality after having a NDE, were he lived as himself in this other reality, that was similar and also different from his current one. It was so much this movie made me want to explore; like how the other alternate Sumni fared after the main Sumni awoke out of that reality.
All in, I liked this movie a lot; I thought they did a wonderful job in the acting and storytelling. But I just, for the life of me, I couldn't get past the bread sellers Yoruba. Lol. What was that accent? It grained on my nerves so much so that, It reduced my enjoyment of the movie a notch, which, again, was good stuff. Why didn't they just allow her speak normal Yoruba! It sounded so off and unnatural to me. However, she acted her part excellently.
The main protagonist, Sunmi, performed his role well too. The movie dialogue was meaningful and realistic (almost a first for a Nigerian movie) and worth following. All in all, wonderful movie with a wonderful ending. But I give a 8 because I just couldn't get past the one Yoruba accent. Lol.
