I found this movie by accident, but I'm so glad did. It had my full attention from beginning to end. The actors did a great job bringing their characters to life. I still can't decide who my favorite character is. The story moves quickly so you never get bored. Devin O'leary and Michael Perez did an excellent job telling the opposite side of reality to immigrants crossing the border. Michael Teoli's music fit perfectly for every scene. Delmone Taylor seemed to do everything in the audio department. And Nick Kerekes found some magical location shots to show the true beauty of new mexico's landscape. Great work video team! Best local movie I've seen. I've seen a few other names on the crew that look familiar and it's refreshing to know with all of the guns that were used in this film, I never heard anyone misusing any equipment on set. Fantastic job everyone. You make me proud to be a New Mexican and I look forward to a sequel! Cheers to a job well done.

Coyote Cage is a story of Migrant Trafficking, the exploitation of human desperation, and its enablers. Some of its feature film contemporaries include: the outstanding "Trafficked" the decent, but much maligned (due to its being diametric to corporate politics), "The Sound of Freedom''. In this tale by writer Devin O'Leary, and director Michael Perez, each of an eclectic cast of desperates pays 2k cash to an American Coyote (immigrant smuggler) for safe passage from Juarez to the US. It's an all cash business and there are no guarantees. Bandits, smugglers and an unforgiving desert stand between a band of desperates and their freedom. Not to mention the CBP and ICE. This is the story of strong female characters, corruptible men, the lust for freedom and redemption. Despite its gruesome subject matter, this is a gorgeous film that plays with light and shadow, thanks in part to cinematographer Nicholas Kerekes. Standout performances from Aubrey Trujillo, and Michael L. McNulty.
Having worked on this as 1st AC and being the Action Cinematographer for the bathroom fight scene, I was BEYOND shocked at how wonderful this film turned out! Without giving away spoilers...
The film follows a band of immigrants fleeing to pursue a better life elsewhere. Throughout their journey, each character faces challenges they never thought they'd 1. Encounter and 2. Be more horrendous than what they left.
The character development is solid throughout as each face their own challenges. The pacing is good with captivating moments throughout. And, the locations are plentiful helping to provide a great visual aesthetic to the story and everything happening "in the moment!"
Even though I worked on this, watching this a year later, I swear I forgot most of what I had done in this film LOL So, when I watched it at the premiere, I felt like I was watching this for the first time; cringing, gasping and, cheering at precise moments that the Director intended!
Great job to all the Crew and Cast! And, most importantly, bravo to the Director and Producer's for pushing through and finishing this, ensuring this story made it to the big screen!

This movie was referred to me by a friend on Facebook and boy did I enjoy. The music throughout this film was astounding and shot out to all who were involved. Delmone your musical talents are amazing and love hearing your work. Keep up the great work and I will continue to follow your progression with your musical talents.
The movie encapsulates the audience from the beginning and I am glad that it was referred. The cinematic change overs and realistic views lends itself to make the audience reflect on situations in today's world. I will be definitely sharing and hope that many others provide their reviews to make this movie top the charts.

This was casted very well. I love Coyotes too. This is a whole different kind of Coyote. Perfectly placed plot twists made this movie entertaining and energetic. Also, the movie draws attention to the migration over the US Mexican border. A Coyote is paid in the sub-economy to transport people over the border. The conditions are usually very dangerous. This film is an artistic depiction of this very real occurrence. Enjoy an all Latino leading cast, that's rare and needed. The story of Latin-Americans in the United States dates back to the arrival of the Spanish. Mexico ruled over most of the Western United States, the US then usurped this land from Mexico and the Native Americans. Watch the movie to see the modern implications dramatized. Enjoy! Hold on to your seats, this is exciting.
