America's Funniest Home Videos: Animal Edition

This is a very formulaic show in that each episode follows a standard format. There is clearly no audience, so the fake laugh track is very annoying - if something is truly funny I will know when to laugh. The host's smile is about as authentic as that given by a slick used car salesman trying to sell you a lemon. The videos of the animals are often funny, but the show could do without the human host or the patter he puts out.

The wonderful Alfonso Ribeiro is what makes this show great family viewing. He makes everything funny and better. He is this show. I love the videos so much, I love animals and I couldn't see anyone else host this except for Mr. Ribeiro. He is and always will be fun. He should be the global star. He is humble kind and a wonderful actor. He def was also the star of The original Fresh Prince of Belair. Def give it a watch. Watch, Laugh and Repeat! - Angela H Quote.

I thought this format was dead, and it certainly should be. You can find these videos online nowadays.

The script is dumb and unfunny and can only appeal to small children. Which makes the sexual jokes very inappropriate. "She made him ink!" is the joke when an octopus squirts. Obviously, the writers are just joylessly churning out some words to fill their quota. And Ribeiro is too tiresome and loud for my taste, but I like him when he sometimes gets to be a self-deprecating nerd.

The animal videos are entertaining, and with some creative thinking, they could make a better and more modern show around them. I guess the network only greenlights stale old formats known to work.

I'd like to know who the narrator is? Not the host, but the female announcer. Anyone know?

America's Funniest Home Videos used to be one of my favorite shows. I grew up with Bob Saget hosting. I feel like he just let the videos be funny without trying to set them up too much or trying to be funnier than the videos themselves.

Alfonso was great on fresh prince and other areas I've seen him in but I feel like his brand of comedy conflicts with America's Funniest Home Videos. Which is really sad for me because I loved the show but every time I've settled in for the comedic ride with a couple friends he will tell a poorly timed joke, make a joke too obvious to the point he ruins it where if he left it half way through it would have been funny. Sometimes it even seems he's trying to be funnier than the videos he is introducing.

I hope he is offered another equally opportunity, if not a better opportunity so a different host can take over. I feel like Terry Cruz would do a good job but he already has his several gigs.
