The Black Hamptons

Carl Weber has stated that "The Black Hamptons" hasn't been cancelled. Its a question of will it show on BET or BET+. This show was good in my opinion. It will still stay on the air on one of two channels. Let's make sure we have the facts before posting information please. It was heavy on how people with money, influence and prestige act in real life unfortunately. I enjoyed the show. I hope to see the next show soon. The last show indicated that the husband is being released from lock up so all that the wife is trying to do will probably be undone. I am glad about that because she needs to be stopped.

With a great storyline and cast, I can't believe the series has been canceled after four episodes. Why?

The family fued between the Brittins and Johnsons, old money and new money is great. This show is a whole vibe and I love it. Wish you would have kept it going. Very disappointed that it was canceled after four episodes. Please reconsider!

Carl Weber, I noticed the Family Business connection. I hope that this is the reason that the show was canceled, so that they could merge together. I don't see any other reason why. Please make this make sense. Faithful Carl Weber fan here! If this is what you were going to do, you shouldn't have even televised it.

Or was this just an in-between show until Family Business came back on?

It's very disappointing but not surprising that BET has chosen to cancel Black Hamptons. I think Carl Weber had been refreshing to the network with his stories and seeing multi-dimensional black characters and black excellence in the Black Hamptons. So to cancel after on 4 episodes makes me rethink why I started back watching BET and paying for BET+, although there are several shows I love on the the network they are consistent in showing black characters in negative light. I also, thinks it's great having another black writer other than Tyler Perry that dominates the networks with his shows. We should be able to see characters play roles and have characters that white actors have dominated the airwaves for years. If you want to continue having black people like me support your network start allowing more shows like the black Hamptons where people like me can recognize some of characters like myself and people that I know. I could go on but I will leave it at this when you have white people take over black networks and have the control to decide what type of stories are writers write and how they chose to depict us good or bad is a problem , especially when the shows they keep are the ones that show us in not so good light and anything other than the black excellence's that so many of us come from but yet not able to see is the reason why I personally will be thinking about if I will continue to support BET. Carl Weber keep up the great work and if you can tell your stories on BET find another network where you can and I will follow my fellow Divine9 brother, your Alpha Kappa Alpha sister and big supporter.

Can't believe it's been canceled. So want to see what happens next!! Someone should remedy this as soon as possible. Watching the first two episodes isn't enough. It won't do it justice. The character and plot development doesn't really expand until the third episode. By the fourth episode, there's enough intrigue to hook the audience. This is why it doesn't make sense to cancel the show after four episodes, especially since the end of the fourth episode foreshadows the introduction of a new character who promises to bring several plot twists. It's really sad to see how often good Black dramas are so easily dismissed.

I've only seen episode one and two thus far. Lamman Rucker, Aaron Spears, Mike Merrill, Vanessa Calloway and Elise Neal gave good performances. I was about to stop watching it when I seen Blac Chyna come into picture. However The storyline seems interesting. Wealthy successful Black people in power always good to see. It's about power, love, deceitfulness, deception, lies, everything that you can think of that brings good drama. With the storyline thus far I can see this series take off. However some of the characters need to be replaced. No names. Brian White is also in the series. It's so hard to watch him be powerless with a corny haircut.
