A breath of fresh air; the story doesn't follow the usual narrative line typical of Spider-Man and reinvents itself by modernizing pre-existing characters, giving them new life. The characters surrounding Peter feel real and face their own struggles, especially Lonnie, whose story is phenomenal. This series is how I wished Spider-Man in the MCU had been introduced. Comic accuracy is also phenomenal: the feeling i had reading the original comics are the same i got by watching the show, Spiderman stories and Peter stories full of personal drama and "gossip".
However, the reasons that drive the character to become Spider-Man are not very clear and are barely explored. I see this as a missed opportunity to reinvent the character in this aspect.

It's amazing to see how a series that nobody asked for and that had so little expectation becomes an instant classic.
Marvel, luckily, has been getting us used to having animated productions of the highest quality in recent years. Perhaps the exception to this concept is seasons 2 and 3 of "What if" but that's another topic. Live Action should learn from this.
This series did more in 10 chapters for the lore of Spiderman than Sony did in 8 years, obviously not much was needed, but the concept is understood. It gave us from the beginning a Spiderman that we should have seen already in the MCU and not after "No Way Home".
It has many successes, great villains, character development and much more. Possibly, its biggest weakness is the animation, in any case we know that a good script makes us forget that (right Invincible?).
You can see the love and knowledge that was put into the plot. We have just the right and necessary cameos. Excellent development of secondary characters and possibly we have rarely seen evolutions like that of Lonnie or Norman Osborne himself.
The ending, with the paradox of predestiny or canonical event within this universe, far from being simple seems to me a fair and necessary resolution.
Multiple doors are left open for plots in future seasons. We could even be lucky enough to see the Sinister Six after so long!
Otherwise, a must-see for Marvel and Spiderman fans, hopefully it becomes another mainstay (along with X-men 97 for example) for better stories and more material from this universe.

I was very skeptical about this show since it was announced. TBH, even its trailer and the lack of hype around it made me almost skip this show, but I am glad I gave it a chance!
I am a big Spider-Man fan, so I have watched or at least know about many different shows, movies, and comics about Spider-Man. Trust me when I say the show gets better after the first two episodes.
I like their decision not to make this show feature in the main MCU timeline, so we are getting many unexpected and less popular characters from the Spider-Man stories!
I just finished all ten episodes, and I absolutely enjoyed this show. The episodes surprisingly felt like a breath of fresh air. There was something exciting in each episode, and the fact that they released the entire season in sets of two or three episodes per week was a good decision. Other shows, especially superhero-related shows, should release episodes like this, IMO.
Though I am praising this show, there are a few things that some people may not like, or this show might not feel enjoyable to them, but this is a different take on the same character we all know and love. With MCU having the rights to almost all of their crucial characters, I am glad they are using them all without messing with the main timeline.
The animation style is not something I really liked, but I got used to it after some time. Though they have made some changes to a few characters' origins and appearances, I feel it is more like the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse decision, where they are basically just considering a different timeline than the most common one.
I am excited about the next season, and I just hope they do not make fans wait too long. I recommend you give this a shot, but if you do, please watch more than three episodes.

As a person who has been around Spiderman since the beginning, I can say this is a perfect mix of the old and the new. The original Peter Paker was smart but not an actual nerd. This is the Peter Parker updated for the 21st century so I guess you can't be smart without being a nerd. This means Parker will do some stupid things the original Parker would never consider. Since we are in a diverse culture I understand the changes in the supporting characters. The animation style is on point with the earlier comic books which is a nice touch and better than the original cartoon of the 60's. I am enjoying this version of Spiderman and can respect the vision they are trying to make.
I love the character development, the Pop art style, the voice acting, and the design. This is clearly not the same universe as the other iterations of Spider-Man. So I don't understand why people are whining about how it's so different from the other iterations of Spider-Man. I've been into Spider-Man since the 1966 version (in the late 70's reruns). I watched Spider-Man on the Electric Company in the 70's, Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends in the 80's, the TV movie, and all of the films. They each have their own approaches and are special in their own way. I appreciate this fresh take and highly recommend it!
