Avis à la une
If I can write something in short its simple: an interesting but very violent and blood-y movie with lots crazy fantasy scenes.
Getting now into some analysis : I know some little malay and could understood around 10% of what told but Greek subtitles greatly helped me. A good way to tst and learn a bit of the language live.
This is the story of Zafik or Just Fiq as many times noticed in the movie. He was unjustly imprisoned He is a calm but legitimate but poor civilian. After being released he aimed to get revenge against anyone involved to get him imprisoned (for trafficking drugs) His aim is to get informed who and why killed his family. His older close friend a suddenly rich person welcome him in his company to work for him but .. In the mean time Feroz a person with mental disorder helped him to get revenge.
This is just the first 8 minutes of calm and slow plot with the remain story getting much more interest until in the end
The story as already noticed is quite brutal. Mot of the movie is gunfire scenes and continuous martial arts most of them rather unnecessary. The movie spoil come to Feroz the person who prefers to play the very strong brutal guy with Rambo powers! (a bit unnatural for his muscle shape).
Fiq knows his abilities . He is a quite impotent and many times cold not help is family. Also a hesitating man. Yes he is married with one child>many times he could not even have money to feed them and always.
Feroz (from Fairuz) instead is a crazy man He uses violent methods and is quite if not very smart. Many times you can look at him laughing even if noting happened. He is aso Sam FIqs best fiend keeps the secret of the story
In the end there are serious secrets that twist the whole story These secrets made me laugh from plot's naivety and will be remain secrets here . The only I can notice we the story steps twice higher into fantasy than reality. As for example we see him getting stabbed to death and after a few seconds he again returns into life! A few mutes after he is fallen frpom the 3rd floor bounce between walls in a narrow road and again after sometime he again risen from the ...floor! Does not sound crazy ?
There are also some nice fast car scenes with lots of gunfire
In short even if the movie is good for international audience many foreigners will mostly laugh with it
Filming is nice and very interesting with HD video quality and some minimal CGI, The main guys play well except Freoz with his ludicrous appearance and overwhelming acting . Lots also of bad mouthing (typical nasty English words )
I generally know that the Malaysian kind of humor is even worse than the Hindi humor as based on 4 movies seen on early 2k
2/5.

Storytelling, acting, action, visual, cinematography, plot twist, everything about this movie are great. Again, thumbs up to Adrian Teh for making this mesmerizing action film. It's so intense. Adrian Teh as a director on a new level.
Not ideal to watch with family. I was thinking to watch this movie together with family as a reason to watch local movie but the content of this movie are quite surprising. I know the rates for this movie is 18+ however as i watch the cast are mostly malaysian, i was thinking it's not as bad as western movie sexual content. Sexy characters, zoom in into butt, and few others. I didn't expect the movie having these scenes since they have quite popular Malay cast. Overall not really a good movie.
The storyline is interesting, with a twist and turn at last. BUT it's NOT 'wow' or surprising enough, as we have seen many better than this kind of movies before. Also, as an audience, we know what the director is heading for! BUT somehow.. it's just NOT well depicted or there enough to get the right 'feeling'.
The pace is ok, slow and steady, with things going on to keep you entertained.
Well, it is the very first time, I found so many vulgar words (e.g. Fxxk, Fxxk-U, CB, LJ, S*hai..) in a Malaysian movie! It's really surprising and I love it! Haha!!
The actions are alright. BUT the director could be over-greedy, having too much in the movie, making it a poor one. Or certain part was meant to be super-cool, yet it was not well delivered, e.g. The gun-shooting scenes of the TWO cars at the U-TURN junction. We know how it shall look like, but it's just up to the Hollywood level to show the BEST of it!
Besides, the jumping-off KLCC scene is poorly presented by the CGI. OR I shall say, it is rather unnecessary, as it doesn't add much value to the movie, in fact, it leads to confusion.
The actors and actresses are all good, BUT the side-roles and others are a bit off and NOT professional enough. Their acting skills are quite stiff and not natural. BUT, overall.. it's ok for a local production.
Being a lenient reviewer, I gave 5.5 out of 1.0 for a local movie. There are plenty of rooms for improvement, especially for a psycho movie like this. Focusing on the main-topic with appropriate depth could be the key to success for such a movie, instead of being over-greedy to have too much on the plate, making it a mixture of nothing but just some empty actions.

No need to rehash the plot details. It's a revenge flick starring a wrongly-jailed guy whose wife and son were killed while he was in the slammer. Classic setup.
The dude seems pretty helpless until a psycho joins the effort to handle the essential mayhem. All the visceral kicks viewers seek from these flicks come from his gleefully sadistic dispatching of thugs as they move up the food chain to the next level of authority. Standard, gory plotline for such guilty-pleasure fare from any continent until a pretty unique, well-executed plot twist. The good sort of mayhem escalates until they jump the shark in the climactic battle.
Once they go too far with the psychological element, we're stuck with an adults-only spin on Looney Toons. Too bad they couldn't figure out a better way to wrap up this otherwise solid action offering.

- AnecdotesWhen Zafik (Iedil Dzuhrie Alaudin) first visits the office of Dato Sam Lee (Henley Hii) the book 'Thick Black Theory' is clearly visible on Sam's desk. In it Chinese scholar Li Zongwu describes the ruthless and hypocritical means men use to obtain and hold power. This can be seen as a theme in the movie.
