Scott Eastwood and Freddie Thorp in Overdrive (2017)
Legendary car thieves Andrew (Scott Eastwood) and Garrett (Freddie Thorp) are caught in the act of stealing from notorious crime boss Jacomo Morier. In order to win back their freedom they're put to the ultimate test -- the theft of a priceless car from Morier's sworn enemy. While putting together a crew to pull off the daring heist they're joined by two beautiful women (Ana de Armas & Gaia Weiss) who are more dangerous than they look. The team has one week to put the plan in motion, steal the car, and make their escape or lose everything, including their lives.

    Fun but nothing Special

    Overdrive is a pretty fun movie, decent car action, ok characters. Overall it's not an awful movie to watch when you have nothing to do, but it is lacking in substance. The storyline is somewhat interesting but leaves a lot of plot holes. I wouldn't not recommend it but I also guess I would recowarn it. It's not the best film out there but there is far worse. I only watched it for Ana De Armas and she didn't disappoint, Scott Eastwood is pretty good and everyone else plays a decent part as well. Not disappointing but nothing to brag about.

    Nice To Look At

    Overdrive is a movie to watch for three things: The classic cars, the French countryside and the ladies: Ana da Armas ( Stephanie) and Gaia Weiss ( Devin). Everyone and everything else is predictable that has been done over 100 times before.. Anti/ hero half brothers. Andrew and Garret. Foster ( Scott Eastwood ( son of Clint) and. Freddie Thorp), versus bad guys. I give it 5/10 stars. 2 for the cars, 2 for the scenery and 2 for the ladies ( 1 each for them).

    Enjoyable

    Overdrive - Nice turn and twisty plot line. Interesting one to catch up if you are a racing and car buffs.

    Not good

    This movie reminds me the French "Taxi" movie series (from Luc Besson): bad action scenes, bad acting, bad script, bad camera work....

    I don't know how Scott Eastwood got involved in this movie. Because he can have a pretty good acting career like his father by selecting better projects.

    Ana De Armas is not good either (before her big break in Blade Runner 2049). Surely because of the crappy and unoriginal script.

    And I don't know how this movie got funded. Surely it can be a nice TV movie, so forgettable.

    Downgraded version of The Fast and The Furious

    The best parts of the FF franchise are the effects and action scenes which require a massive budget.

    Take away the budget and you get this movie which is a boring, clique'd, uninspiring mess that should have not been made.

    Not absolutely horrendous but you will forget that this movie existed after walking from the theater.

      The Ferrari 250 GTO in the movie is not one of the genuine 36 250 GTO's. Instead it is a replica, based on a Ferrari 250 GTE, chassis number 4861GT, owned by a French collector. This is unsurprising as a real car of such used in the film would be valued at several millions: the current record for world's most expensive car was set a year after the films release (2018: a 1963 250 GTO (chassis 4153GT) sold in a private sale for $70 million; and another in auction (GTO 3413GT) at some $48,000,000): prior to the film being made, a bid of $34,000,000 secured one in 2014.
