Chief of War

Chief of war is everything that you want and more with great performances, and with a great Hawaiian setting, amazing atmosphere that pairs with the cinematography, which is also another feat of the series so far, with how memorable some of the shots really are. Action sequences that are very unique and unexpected, the introduction to this series could not have been any better. 9/10 so far so good.

Chief of War is an absolute masterpiece. The cinematography is breathtaking, every frame feels like a painting, capturing the raw beauty and spirit of Hawaii. The score is equally powerful, swelling with emotion and driving the narrative with epic force.

What makes this series truly stand out is its authenticity. You're taken on a visceral, emotional journey through a chapter of history that desperately needed to be told. The decision to use the native Hawaiian language was perfection, it adds so much depth and integrity to the storytelling. If it had been in English, I honestly think it would have lost its soul.

The performances are strong across the board, and the action doesn't hold back, it hits you right in the face, both physically and emotionally. It's rare to see a show approach history with this level of cinematic beauty and cultural respect.

This is a beautifully done series! It's also great subject matter to me as I don't know the history of the Hawaiian islands. I don't mind reading the subtitles but I do believe that having a narrator would substantially enhance the telling of the story. There are movies & series that utilize narration to enhance the storytelling, show context & give insights into the characters. Nevertheless, it is excellent so far & should be an exciting, enjoyable series to watch!

Not sure why so many are upset about the native language being spoken or why it "ruins" it for them. It's pretty neat to listen to the language spoken as it would have been during the time, then again I have a penchant for being able to learn languages fairly quickly (not that I expect to do that from watching a television miniseries). So far it is very credible, from what I know of the history of the Hawaiian Islands and its gritty while still being beautiful. I give it high marks and expect it to be an awesome series to the finish!

So far so good very relatable to vikings season 1 just faster paced.

Momoa shines as the main man the action is good so far but could do with more gore and brutality. The characters are well established within the first episode and you can see the evil in temeura.

Reminding me of shogun and apocalypto I'm very excited to see where this show leads 8/10 so far.
