    i wanted to like this!

The beginning of "America Caused Two of the Greatest Disasters in Human History" is just over the top Revisionist Bunk to pretend Japan was just on the edge of surrender and defenseless was unnecessary and untrue and Worse covers up the fact that Japan was Responsible for Crimes Against Humanity of the scale of the other Axis Nations. i have heard Mr. Yamaguchi's Story before and i wish it was told better with less Cartoonish Narrative and Odd Propagandist Feel to it. Mr. Yamaguchi was working for the Military and was a Legitimate Target, he wasn't a Victim of anything and i think painting him as one does him a Disservice. Mr. Yamaguchi is an outspoken Voice Against Nuclear Proliferation and War and a Very Powerful one. he wasn't a Hero on those Two days his Feat then was not Dying, That's all he was in Military Targeted City working for the Japanese Military His Heroism came later by being Vocal for Peace and to stop the Threat of Nuclear War, it does take Courage to keep reliving those days over and over to try and stop it from ever happening again.

People didn't just die "immediately" from drinking it was long and painful with no way to offer any Medical aid to them in some cases it took decades. The over top Effects both Visual and Audio made it seem Propagandist and took away from the Fact that this Actually Happened to People. Blaming one side and not holding the other accountable is unfair to Mr. Yamaguchi's Message I wanted to like this but it took away from the Facts and Message.

Tsutomu Yamaguchi passed away in 2010 he Died from Stomach Cancer at Age 93

    Lacking.

The parts where Yamaguchi speaks is powerful and moving. But its disappointing that his experience in Nagasaki after the bombing was not mentioned. The CGI and all did little to enhance the story. Overall the documentary feels a little weak.

It needed to be expanded more than a 40 minute short....

I found out about this documentary short through Netflix and honestly felt it could be better if it was an hour documentary. Also the renactment of what happened to Yamaguchi on that extremely tragic day didn't give in my personal opinion, any strong feelings of how he felt. With renactments in documentaries they mostly show it truly well whereas in this documentary, it was poorly done. That included the CGI part where it showed the bomb hitting both cities.

This documentary would have been better if:- * Yamaguchi was given a lot more screentime *Have it as a feature film (like the other reviewer said) than a short * The CGI part wasn't there

Although for the good part, it did show some strong feelings when we see Yamaguchi talking to schools about his experience and of course seeing him breaking down while bravely admitting what happened in his experience during the bombing, was very hard to watch.

There should be a film in tribute to this legend of a man like seriously 40 minutes is not enough to cover what truly happened on the 9th of August 1945 <\3

    Plays loose, pointlessly, with facts

There was no need to doctor the terrible truth as is done in this film. The sensationalism and special effects are entirely out of place, and do disservice to the subject. For example, people did not keel over instantly from drinking radioactive rain. The catastrophes of the atomic bombs were actually side shows to the much more destructive and lethal fire-bombing of all the major Japanese cities. This historical context is important in order to understand the meaning of Yamaguchi's experience. Instead the director goes for a cinematic treatment. If that was the desire, a feature film would have been better.
