Murdaugh Murders

This was a great depiction of a horrible event. The show handles it with taste and amazing acting that humanizes this family.

Although everyone is great, especially Patricia Arquette as Maggie, but Clarke steals the show. If he doesn't win the Emmy I would be shocked.

I hope this show helps keep pressure on the ongoing investigation to find the people or person responsible for the death of Steven Smith.

Definitely watch this show.

I almost bailed out during episode one, but I realized the producer/director needed to flesh-out the characters and their oppulant lifestyles before getting to the point, and now I'm glad I put down the remote. This eight-episode series is yet another example of the really great stuff Hulu has been putting out for the last five years (think back to "The Queen's Gambit").

Excellent casting choices, first of all. These characters are so real, so believable, and so immersive that, for me anyway, there were a few uncomfortable moments where I truly left my own life and stepped into theirs, the disturbing stuff and all. The excellent acting, cinematography, and musical scoring are almost emotionally magnetic, too. The directors, Jenner Furst and Julia Willoughby Nason, make sure you feel deeply-entrenched all along the process of this case. And it's an unsettling but addictive ride.

I've done some of my own research about this case (admittedly all online, so no more than the average "armchair crime investigator"), and I admire the realistic and "assumed" script-writing with regard to accuracy. Of course liberties are taken, but let's be honest, the crimes are more interesting than the people commiting them, so there is zero chance that I'd watch this eight-hour story had the writers NOT added some spices.

Throw in some intriquging location shooting sites, really captivating scoring and Foley work, and some creative direction and lighting choices and this quickly became my latest Hulu binge.

I've seen all of the documentaries about these events and this family, so I was hesitant watching everything over again. This series brings something different to the people who thought they had already seen enough of the Murdaughs. They creators did a great job portraying the lifestyles of the Carolina coast towns, bo.

I'm not sure if Jason Clarke has an Emmy yet, but he truly deserves one for this series. He did something really special with this role. The actor who played the young bo had a great performance throughout the series too, I hope to see him in future films!

I just finished watching this show, and all I can say is that it's hilarious. J. Clarke's (Alex Murdaugh) acting is phenomenal, capturing all of the aspects of a sociopath's manipulative behavior, as well as the lack of empathy and guilt. The entire narrative is heartbreaking, demonstrating how indulging humans in overprotected and strong families can result in immature, self-centered adults who have no guilt for either themselves or their children.

Having followed this story since the morning after the murders and being a day one listener of the Murdaugh Murders podcast, this show is fantastic. The casting is spot on. Jason Clarke is incredible as good ol boy Alex and Johnny Berchtold deserves major awards for his portrayal of Paul.

The attention to detail that went into this show is phenomenal (I'm looking at you Capri Suns). For those of us that have followed closely since the beginning, this show is giving us a brilliantly acted and carefully dramatized version of all of the facts and stories that we are so familiar with while keeping the victims at the forefront.

For anyone concerned with the timeline issues, you should watch/listen to the official companion podcast. Most of the creative choices/changes are explained there! And remember, this is not a documentary-it's a scripted series!!
