Sam has been in such great movies and deserves far better scripts, Henry Cavil may have brought this silly role on himself, I don't know what happened behind the scenes for him to lose favour with those in power for casting, but if this is the best he can expect going forward I'd start producing or contribute in some other way. Bryce is no Melissa McCarthy and it does take special talent to look elegant when frumpy in an evening gown. It just leaves a huge question, why? Why did they bother to make such a mess of a movie? John Cena? Who cares and so I suppose he's the only one who you don't wonder or care why he has a cameo, but Henry Cavil has fallen hard to be on equal footing with him. It made me sad really. Some of this cast has Oscar worthy talent and I miss seeing them in far better material than this kinda stuff. I only kept watching thinking if I shook my head one more time it would turn into a movie, it never does, bail early, it doesn't improve.

I want to be fair, Bryce Dallas Howard does NOT totally ruin this movie, even without her very minimal acting skills, the movie is still one big steaming pile. Howard has one "deer in the headlights" expression that she uses to convey any response. Using her to carry an entire movie is just mental cruelty - to her and to the audience.

The script is one big convoluted trainwreck. Is it an action movie? Romance? Political Satire? Ultimately it dosent really matter, after two plus hours the audience just wants it to be over. Anytime the action slows, which it does every three minutes, they toss in some preposterious special effects. The movie is overwhelmed by these not so special effects.

And, please while they are heavily featured in the trailers, both Henry Cavill and John Cena appear in only a few short scenes throughout this overlong movie.
