R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned

This prequel has NONE of the original cast members, and that should be your first clue. The new cast is uninspired; all the acting feels stiff and/or awkward with the exception of Jake Choi (who did a fine job and seemed to be having a good time).

The new "younger" Roy (do dead people age?) is NOTHING like the droll character played so well by Jeff Bridges, aside from being a cowboy. It's insulting that the audience is supposed to believe it's the same person.

I give this film five stars for mindless and predictable (LIGHT) entertainment value, with a 1-star penalty for "New Roy", and another for some preachy (and wildly anachronistic) dialog and sub-themes. That's three (3) stars total.
