Avis à la une
I have seen All her other specials she's good, this just flops. Audience were very quiet which is weird, not sure if the Audio was just turned down but it seemed quiet. Also she seemed to be out of breath a lot of the time.
She just seemed to play it very safe in this special.
Skip it.

I prefer the old Whitney where she would only yell the punchline - so that we knew where the funny was. It was like her own personal version of an applause sign and a laugh track. But now, she starts out yelling and mugging. Sadly, comedy specials seem to be rife with this now: Iliza Schlessinger, Kevin Hart, etc. Some people like to refer to them as being 'high energy' but it's just exhausting and it seems to be a tool and a tactic to use when the material isn't really there. This is what Robin Williams did for years and everybody was fooled by it. But go back and watch it now and you'll realize it was all a smokescreen. You're better off watching the latest Bill Burr special. Or Tig Notaro's last special.
So she's pretending not to be woke making fun of woke things? So many not funny or cringey parts... the whole thing has a weird vibe. Lots of jokes about her being super old but she's in her late 30s and still looks great so it really just doesn't work. Just very disappointing because she definitely can be funny, I've heard her on rogan and actually enjoyed the podcast.
What in the hell did I just watch? I mean, the Andrew Schulz special was bad, but compared to this it was a masterpiece.
This mid-40 comedian (sorry, 39 of course *cough*) should have her picture under "physical comedy", what once was an okay roast comic and surely here and there a funny one, turned into a gymnast, except the gymnast is out of breath after every interpretation of a joke.
She thinks weird faces and movements, plus presenting the V constantly, equals funny. First part is just sex jokes, really bad ones. She is into old people, then suddenly she is into young guys. For the sake of comedy.
The second half is about stuff you did as a kid. Wild, right? Remember all the dangerous stuff we did as a kid? Wow. I remember *clap clap clap* But there is no joke.
Gringo Papi is the standard for the worst comedy special out there. But at least it was just 30 minutes. This is Whitney Cummings' 5th special, she should be good at this. Or just better than Schaub. But apparently she confused this one with a podcast. I didn't laugh once, I can at least laugh at Brendan Schaub ironically. This is worse.

This has got to be the least entertaining special of hers I've seen. It seemed like her and the audience weren't connecting, and it threw the whole routine off to the point that she had to explain the punchline of a lot of her jokes. Normally they film something like this a few times over a few nights or weeks and then put out the best version of it. IDK what happened here, seemed like they just did one rough take and that was it.
Still a fan, her other specials have all been good.
On a more serious note, Whitney has talked about her body insecurities and been open about that being the reason for her plastic surgery. It's clear that she struggles with body insecurity issues and has a hard time with relationships because of it. While there is no shame in any of that, it's clear that these feelings are the basis for a lot of her jokes and it turns into a lot of material that's sorta of blaming and bashing men in a way that feels more spiteful than funny. It feels more like she's going through a list of things that bother her, or things that she's struggles with, and pointing blame more so than trying to be funny. I think she lost her focus on this one. In her last special she talked about this stuff without making it an attack and I think that serves as a good example of how she struggled to thread the needle here.
