Jesse James: Outlaw Garage

Hi all, I've watched the pilot episode of JJ:OG, and i have to say,this show is just as good as WCC was. Hes a master fabricator and tanks and fender just don't cut it enough for him. I love custom hot rods and choppers too. so the "only hotrod"scheme is pretty much enough and awesome. no one wants to see his monster garage series anymore..thats just (wicked)unreal. so him putting his heart n mind to cars now..that gonna make this show a success. i'm looking forward for September. and recommend anyone who loves the hot rod building custom car stuff going on to watch it.

This was recently shown in Asia... it was at least 5 episodes, then 'poof' gone! The series started strong with a great rod build. After that a another great rod, this time for Paul Teutel Sr, but the show started to feel like another semi-reality style 'cookie cutter' show. Paul Sr bitching about his son took as much priority as the car.

After that it spiraled down.. potential build off's, everything being up to the last minute, rival company gift sending... seen it too many times. Started to feel like a sell out. So much formula from just about every other Pilgrim production show out there... all they needed was to start digging for gold and it would have everything.

The last episode aired was a return to form. A custom build for the new Austin track of America's... lots of fabrication and mechanical interest.

Jesse has great skills and makes for entertaining watching. It is great to watch weakness break under his alpha-dog style. He needs a show on TV... just one that does his skills justice.

Jesse no doubt has the pedigree and knows his business, but after seeing two episodes it's clear the show quickly fell into the trap of deadlines, deadlines, deadlines, and interpersonal drama, drama, drama, and a lot of macho cursing. Hard to watch. Why can't his programs just be like Iron Resurrection or Shorty's where everybody gets along and efficiently does their job? Plus, the fact that he has to send out everything for paint and upholstery makes it, in my humble opinion, less stellar than the others. As one who is completely hooked on these kinds of MotorTrend shows and appreciates the knowledge and skill that go into building a gorgeous car, I just wish these detracting/distracting factors would go away.

It's the usual stuff, just a bunch of green kids and sharing a shop with a millennial flip flop gossiper now, it seems beneath him a bit and the bullying tough guy with a bunch of nerds stuff is so 2005. It's kinda cookie cutter like the other guy said, shooting guns at his house, the pit bulls, the explanation of the pay up sucker tattoo and the $100 bill tattoo, how money motivates him, the bike build off vs the losers 3 that never happened, the load of dung. All the same and that's probably why it lasted 5 eps. Good for a reminder of the old days of the early 2000s. But that's about it. It aged about as well as the old Affliction and Ed Hardy t-shirts if they made a comeback today. Ehh.
