The Golden Spoon

Korean Drama " The Golden Spoon " is a webtoon live action.

The series is a character drama, thus, it focuses more on its main leads, rather than the romance, which was okay, but, fortunately, didn't overshadow the main story. Rather, it compliment it and was there to add a few touches of emotional frustration.

On the other hand, the drama weighted the family bonds more, compared to any love story. The family drama was on point and was rightfully enough intense.

However, the drama after the first part, got confusing, as they kept adding golden spoons. Thus, it was hard to keep track on who was who, or whom they used to be.

The performances, in addition, were great by all the actors and actresses in the cast.

So, overall, eight out of ten.

In the first 3 episodes you'll know whether to continue the series or not but this new k-drama just need a total of 30 mins to hooked their audience up. Instantly fell in love with all the characters, all of them delivered their role well also they're new faces so it's interesting to watch knowing that this will give a totally new air of k-drama industry.

At first I thought an hour long episode is such a waste of time but I didn't regret from starting this k-drama, now I'm left craving for more. Don't know what's ahead since it's still showing but hopefully this series won't let the viewers down. Highly recommend viewers to try this too you'll find it interesting in the first few minutes!

I found the poster of the drama purely by accident on twitter( thank u to whoever posted it haha) Got HOOKED within just a few MINUTES of watching! This has become one of my most FAVORITE Korean drama of ALL TIME and I've watched PLENTY lol. It's THAT GOOD for me. It's HEAVY drama for sure but it's so WORTH your time. The genre is fantasy but it certainly tackles important REAL LIFE societal issues and all we're so WELL-DONE & ACTED. Great cinematography, well-constructed & unpredictable story lines and actors were amazing especially the main lead Yook Sungjae and Choi Wonyoung!!! I would highly recommend!

I did not expect to enjoy this series. To begin with, I seldom enjoy fantasy shows. So I kept giving this a pass until I had nothing else to watch while waiting for the next episodes of Taxi Driver 2 and Divorce Attorney Shin.

I got hooked from the first episode and hardly ever paused. The pace was consistent. The series also touched on a a number of themes and points worth pondering about.

All characters were well portrayed and there wasn't any one actor I would criticize for a bad performance. All gelled well, even those with cameo roles.

And the ending was very satisfying.

Worth your 16 hours, guaranteed.

Brilliant story line, excellent script, first class cast and acting, fine cinematography, directing, editing. What's not to like!

Korean series are no strangers to convoluted plots, this one leads the pack, but the 'convolutions' are logical and at times stunning. The pace is consistent, right to the end. No GOT let downs here.

Politics social classes / barriers, business ethics or lack off, dubious pasts and questionable futures rule the script, all interpreted through inter personal and intra family relationships, with interchangeable parents as the kicker. There I also the mandatory element of occassional violence and frequent corruption.

Greed, social position and pride are the motors, with a nice balance of complex love issues.

Highly recommended!
