Anur: Eyes on the sunshine

Rather than going with the fast-moving trend, this movie will stop you in between to think back on what you have actually lost in the middle of gaining everything. It's easy to portray a few minutes of action, laughter, or tears, but I think it's unbelievably tough to create a scenario where you are showing every minute of a thinking mind, every small detail, finding a bond between a mix of different emotions, and to showcase what actually life is and where we are heading in life. Amazing work. Assamese film industry is in deep trouble as we can see, so everyone was trying to copy trending movies from all over India, but creating something like this out of the box is a courageous thing.

'Anur' is a fairly straightforward movie. Well, at least till its third act. The plot is driven by the characters, and its best quality is that it never becomes self-aware. Instead of pleading for our pity, it increases our capacity for empathy. The external environment is always presented as a reflection of the character's inner thoughts. Whether something feels suspicious or appears harmless, it is the perspectives of the characters that we are subscribing to. And this makes the usual ambiance of being inside the house or out in the market very unusual. This treatment of exploring an aged character's psyche makes 'Anur' a slow-footed drama, and intentionally so. The emotions are subdued in the first half as the narrative is mostly built around the insecurities of an old lady living alone, but it does bring in a faint tune of melancholy that surface towards the end. And if you try not to sense the story's pacing but absorb its soul, the right emotions will come for you.

This is a extraordinarily great piece of work. One of the best movie to watch in lifetime. Very heart touching storyline.. very much pleased to watch it.. so nicely reflects the truth of life... thank you Rajat Kapoor sir and Jahanara Begum ma'am along with the director for gifting such a nice movie. When the commercial movies of Assam are now a days seen to be a copy paste of south Indian movie, this kind of movie have it's own beauty to satisfy the viewers.. every scene of the movie is so practical.. the subject matter of the movie is very relevant to this modern day society. Thank you so much.
