Butta Bomma Movie Review: A romantic tale that turns dramatic and uncovers a facade.

Story: Satya (Anikha Surendran) wrong dials Murali (Surya Vashistta); over a period of time, their frequent conversations lead to the blossoming of love. But when they decide to meet in Vizag, Ramakrishna, aka RK (Arjun Das), enters the scene. What happens next takes the romantic story on a different tangent.

Review: Butta Bomma is a Telugu remake of the critically acclaimed film Kappela and stays true to the original narrative for the most part. Showcasing village life and its nuances, the film appeals to one's senses. The plot revolves around Satya, a young girl from the quaint village of Duddikonda in Araku Valley; she leads a rather simple and beautiful life - her father works in a rice mill, her mother does tailoring at home, has a school-going sister, Lakshmi is her close friend and Chinni, a local rich guy wants to marry her. The narrative that's close to reality makes the story relatable and believable. Everyday conversations in a middle-class household, the ambitions of a young girl, and how others in the village perceive and react are well presented. On a fateful day, a wrong dial changes Satya's life, and gradually, she falls in love with this unseen man, Murali, an autorickshaw driver from Nellimarla. This relationship which is based on phone calls, could have been more organic. It needed a better screenplay in certain sections. In the second half, the movie goes through a dramatic turn of events exposing the horrible truth of human trafficking. The movie ends on a thought-provoking note delivering a message about being smarter when dealing with unknown people, especially online. While the movie impresses as an overall product, the same could have been shown in a shorter time, especially the first half.

Anikha Surendran as a village girl, impresses with her acting and looks. Newcomer Surya Vashistta turned out to be a charmer and did a commendable job. He is a promising actor to look out for. Arjun Das, as an unemployed, desperate, short-tempered yet sensible individual, elevated the drama in the second half with his body language and baritone voice. Navya Swamy did her job well with her limited screen time. Other actors, too, chimed in and did their best.

Directed by Shouree Chandrashekhar T Ramesh, the film has dialogues by Ganesh Ravuri, music by Gopi Sundar, cinematography by Vamsi Patchipulusu and editing by Navin Nooli.

Overall, it's a simple romantic tale which later turns dramatic, exposing the human trafficking facade. The beautiful locale, tasty cinematography, and impressive performances make it a decent watch, even for those who watched the Malayalam original.

A very simple and Beautiful movie with a great message for girls/boys. Every girl should see this movie. The movie ends with a message not to trust strangers, in today's age people connect virtually and fall in trap set by predators. Human/child trafficking is a huge problem since decades. The movie has a backdrop based on trafficking.

Loved the simple life and village scenes shown in the movie, amazing acting by Arjun Das. Surya and Anika are good too. Arjun Das' performance and voice is just lit.👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼. Loved the twist to his character in the movie at the end.

All in all a must watch movie.

One word - Fantastic movie! Story portrays around a village girl who falls in love with an auto driver virtually post connection of a wrong number call. Initially movie looks like a simpler one but then comes unexpected twist with an impressive climax. Movie comes with a strong message of how the entire world leaves behind a mask. Love can be forgotten but not the betrayal by those we love. The direction is so good gets one completely involved into the movie instantly. The prime center of the movie is the acting n innocence of lead actress. This seems to be the remake of Malayalam movie 'Kappela'. This one is a Telugu movie dubbed in all South Indian languages. Available in Netflix, my ratings 9/10!

Movie is simple, yet gives powerful mesage to the audience and parents. Don't leave your daughters for an unknown hawk's and fall trap for such kind of people. Story is decent, direction is very good, acting is top notch.

First half sets the story and few twists and turns, hero becomes villan and villan becomes hero, and heroine empowered to take her own decision in the final plot, left to the imagination of the audience.
