Doin' It

Yesterday, I had the honor of attending the opening of Doin' It. It's a film I recommend everyone to see.

I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud with a full belly laugh at the theater.

Maya is me, and I am Maya. I know so many Mayas.

I grew up never getting "the talk," and sex was such a taboo topic that I thought it was a myth-at least until I discovered romance novels and realized how real it was 😅 I loved seeing both familiar and new faces on screen. They brought their A-game to this story and truly elevated it.

This sex comedy follows a 30-year-old virgin who becomes a sex ed substitute teacher at a high school.

Lilly and her team did a fantastic job creating this movie. I've followed Lilly's career since her YouTube days, but this is her best project yet. I hope to see her in more acting roles in the future. @lilly

People who are rating it low don't understand the message. It's funny and important. Huzzah for sex ed especially when education is threatened in this country. For those who are fans of Lily and a good / hopeful rom com, go watch. Only note, they didn't really talk about consent, the one topic I was surprised they didn't mention. Happy viewing and bravo Lily.

Wow this movie completely blew me away. Honestly I went in thinking it was just gonna be another cheesy high school comedy but it was the total opposite. The jokes weren't the typical corny ones, they were actually smart and really funny. There wasnt a single boring moment, every scene had something going on that kept the energy up. My partner and me were laughing the whole time and honestly everybody in the theater was too. If you want a comedy that actually hits, Doing It is def worth watching.

As far as raunchy comedies go, one of the better ones I've seen in a while.

Some truly hilarious moments and the cast really elevates the whole thing. You can tell some improv of people just riffing off one another made the final cut, and that's a personal favorite of mine.

Doin' It the funniest irreverent comedy I've seen in a long time, and hands down my favorite film of 2025 so far. The jokes are outlandish, highly inappropriate, yet highlight how naive people are when it comes to sex education. The angle of being a first generation American from foreign adds emphasis to how confusing it can be when it comes to understanding relationships. Which adds some necessary heart behind all the comedy.
