Avis à la une
I couldn't believe my eyes when I stumbled upon "Fatal Seduction," and it's safe to say that my skepticism was more than justified. This so-called TV show is nothing short of a complete train wreck. From the very first episode, it became apparent that "Fatal Seduction" is nothing more than an unimaginative, shameless copy of the Spanish series "Dark Desire," which wasn't even good to begin with. Why anyone thought it necessary to remake such a lackluster show is beyond me.
The lack of originality is mind-boggling. Every plot twist, every character arc, and every suspenseful moment are carbon copies of its supposed inspiration, "Dark Desire." I was hoping for something fresh and exciting, but instead, I was subjected to a monotonous and uninspired rehash of a show that didn't deserve a remake in the first place.
To make matters worse, "Fatal Seduction" manages to be even worse than "Dark Desire" itself. The writing is subpar, with dialogue so clichéd and lifeless that it's almost painful to endure. The attempts at suspense and drama fall flat, leaving the audience with a sense of déjà vu and disappointment.
The characters are mere cardboard cutouts, lacking depth or development. It's as if the writers didn't even bother to put in any effort to distinguish them from their Spanish counterparts. The cast's performances are equally unremarkable, failing to inject any semblance of life into their one-dimensional roles.
Moreover, the production quality is far from impressive. The cinematography feels cheap, and the overall direction lacks any artistic flair. It's apparent that this show was rushed into production without any thought or care for creating a compelling viewing experience.
In conclusion, "Fatal Seduction" is an unoriginal, poorly executed, and wholly unnecessary TV show. If you've seen "Dark Desire," you've already witnessed everything this copycat series has to offer. Save yourself the time and disappointment, and steer clear of this dreadful attempt at entertainment.

If you're a fan of erotic stories my best advise is a go watch DARK DESIRE. WHY? Because this story is a South African rip off from the Spanish series. Basically speaking the creative department and the Head writers were so lazy that they copied each scene and even the character names from the Spanish series.
The actors are nice. However the story is not authentic from South Africa.
Having watched other series from Mzansi I can tell you this is totally shameless and lazy copying of OSCURO DESEO (dark desire).
If you don't want rip off TV shows stay away from this show. The show has not even gone deep to research on real issues.
I give it 1 out of 10 because there's no 0 otherwise I'd have given it quickly without thinking twice.
DO NOT WATCH IT. I RECOMMEND BLOOD AND WATER another well researched show from the same country.

It is quite clear after having watched the first few episodes that there is a bright future for African productions. The creators, producers, and production designers have done an awesome job in showing us some of the most beautiful locations of South Africa. And this is how a country, or a region should be portrayed for the entire globe to see. What impressed me the most was the series' cinematography, which surprisingly is comparable to many successful Hollywood movies, and shows. The story is delicately brought out, the presentation creative, and the actor's performances, many of which showcase Africa's talent, will make the average viewers curious enough to discover what Africa has to bring to the table. As far as critics go, I believe they are being a bit tough on this. After all, Fatal Seduction is directly inspired by Dark Desire, a Mexican erotic thriller that has according to critics missed the mark for two consecutive seasons. If this South African production turned out to be a masterpiece, it would have been an astounding and outstanding project. So, watch this for what it truly is; that is, a ateamy series, a complete, comprehensive and beautifully told story, pure entertainment, the portrayal of black culture, and most importantly the revelation of what most love stories have gone and continues to go through since the beginning of time.
This series won't win any prizes apart from maybe for the juicy love scenes. And there are lots of those. The acting is hammy, the pace slow and the plot & twists are not amazing. You could probably skip the first episode and still know exactly what is going on, it's that straight forward. But I did enjoy it as a sort of guilty pleasure and binged it in an evening. There are some amazing scenes of Cape Town and I liked the short episodes, and watching stunning looking characters make a soap-opera type mess of their lives. The end of season cliffhanger is not bad. Will it bring me back for more? Probably!
I enjoyed the Mexican show and this is literally a remake. Scenery of Cape Town is pretty nice and the cinematography looks good, but otherwise so unoriginal. I wonder why there are no references to the fact that it is a remake, they really should give credit to the Mexican show. I thought Maite Perroni did a better job as the lead character and I loved Alejandro Speitzer in the original. The South African version had some beautiful shooting locations and costumes were great. I think you should definitely check out the original show, Oscuro Deseo or Dark Desire, 2 seasons that you can find on Netflix.
