This drama is so compelling and so beautifully written. The story unfolds, very deliberately, and nothing is revealed in the plot to soon keeps you on the edge of your seat. The acting is just perfect. Just paced so perfectly. And I have to complement both the directors, all the crew and writers, and also art direction and of course the actors you have to make all of this come alive on the screen it really is quite something. It's full of pain hits of human beings, but also with a lot of compassion and reflection about that pain in the causes of it. It's a real subject, the touches the heart. Visually done in the style of film noir it keeps you engaged because you always feel that there's something that isn't being told isn't being seen and it requires you to reach in to your own mind to fill in the gaps and then you wanna check and see if you're right. Definitely worth watching!
It has been a while since a well-written supernatural mystery drama came to any platform. This drama has good plot with obvious underlying contradictions. It explores a lot of philosophical and moral dilemmas and conflicts in a new way. Whilst doing that it doesn't confuse the viewers with too many information at first and lets the story build on its own. The actors' deliverance, direction, narration, was all bang on. This is a fun, exciting watch that make the viewers keep guessing as to the characters' reactions to the many things that they come across over a period of time. Every scene is well-placed and paced unlike most mystery dramas. This is a good account on human nature that investigates the layers between the two extremities of good and bad.
An unsuccessful writer Yuk Dong-joo (Jung Woo) is driving when a young man Kang San (Bae Hyun-sung) runs in front of his car and ends up in hospital in a coma. The aspiring writer finds a book in the backpack of the young man which he recognises could be a best seller. When the young man comes around from his coma he has no recollection who he is but appears to have mysterious powers. Together they try to find out who he is and form a brotherly partnership to recover his memories. It is an interesting script but as the real story begins with a murder committed 27 years earlier you do need to pay attention to keep up with plot and characters. It is well acted but I felt the pacing was off at times and certainly could have been shorter or more time spent on the supporting cast and their stories.
The dramatic music in certain parts is unnecessary. The main actor keeps yelling unnecessary, his face betrays what he says. As for the boy from the past he keeps shaking for no reason and having that shocked face ......
I do not see them battle any crime as written in the description. The first and 2nd episodes looked promising then we got into this one story line.
The female cop who is all tough but is traumatized.
Like they was a story somewhere in there, am on episode 10 just about to give up, if we keep talking about plagiarism and lost brother.
The story line is slower than many K-Dramas considering it's a 2023 I expected a more fast paced action .......

I wasn't happy when this series turned into a police procedural, but it redeemed itself in the end. What I like about many of the Korean series is that they have moral heft, and this was a good example of that. For me, the most interesting elements involved the relationship between the brothers and between Yook Dong-Joo and Kang San. But I was confused in the middle, and although it came together, it dragged a little. The acting was impressive, the ending was satisfying, and the main characters, as well as the minor characters, were likable. As an author, I could really relate to Yook Dong-Joo's publishing insecurities, Nicely done.
