After Civil War a lady sees opportunity of a business. She is helped by her young son and, in dark circumstances of death of husband and high interest of people for spiritism, her techniques of manipulation of clients are only pragmatic.

But the things are not so simple and she discovers this accepting the price of a terrible sacrifice.

An intense story, served by inspired cinematography and beautiful acting, by well crafted dialogue and clever construction of tension.

Two significant virtues - the atmosphere post Civil War and the beautiful work of young Hudson Barry.

Not last, the impressive final , so realistic.
