A formulaic Chinese drama but great actors.

The settings and costumes are out of this world.

It must cost a fortune just for the costumes.

We are exrtemely upset that they replaced the male lead.

We have watched him in other shows.

He plays the calm,cool and collected role very well.

We think the goor chemistry with the cast is excellent.

We don't know how changing any characters will improve the show.

Liu Yu Ning, and Liu Shi Shi were wonderful together.

Alen Feng,He Lan Dou,Chen You Wei,Wang Yi Zhe,Chang Hua Sen really gelled with the leads to make this a terrific show.

We would certainly look for series with this cast.

I was drawn to the show by the posters and trailers but the male lead turned out to be too disappointing. His crying scenes are unimpressive and lack emotions. It seems the actor doesn't have a deep understanding about the character and his performance is too flat and short of layers.

The famale lead's performance is acceptable, neither a breakthrough nor a surprise. Though she moves around in a slightly wooden way, most of the time she is a beautiful picture to behold.

Other characters in the Liu Dao Tang brigade are more or less stereotypes except the princess, who has an engaging and complete character arc.

The character building of Li Tong Guang is such a pity. He could have been a shining character but ended up to be a childish hothead with split personality.

The plot is tight in the beginning, sluggish in the middle (I had to fast forward the kissing scenes), and super fast in the end. The court politics part is a bit shallow and unrealistic.

Amazing series! This has been one of the best series that I have watched in terms of acting, writing, cinematography and strong characters, never a dull moment . The story and sound effects are very well blended. The actors and actresses in this series were amazing especially Liu Yu Ning and He Lan Dou. The synchronized and individual martial arts are mesmerizing and beautifully executed. Characters and character development was very satisfying.

Acting was superb! From the subtle details such as a twitch of a facial muscle and lip movement, to the cracked voice in emotional scenes. Everyone had their moments. I have never felt so much emotions while watching a drama before and I'm glad for such a beautiful and bittersweet journey.

It was kind of a bittersweet ending, but a happy one at the same time. It is a sad ending but not a bad ending, for me personally it's satisfying.

Overall I highly highly recommend this fantastic and very entertaining drama series.

I think you impressive lost s final episode and impressive War movies.you treat watchers!!! Im really angry.at least you can give the watcher little good end for players also..im really regretful i watch. I got attached to caracters! Thats why i watched.after 30 episode dont watch everyone!cuz you ll regrate!! I gave my vote will 6 cuz of 6 best caracter thats it.and i ll never watch your any scenerio!!any tv series!!.......

What an epic drama, so enjoyable and emotional. I never cry with any series and this one got me a couple of times.

The show is incredibly well made and the script its very compelling, with a lot of action, incredible fight scenes, funny moments, loads of teasing and beautiful camaraderie and friendship between all characters. It will hook you from the moment you start watching.

In the second half there's a few slow and draggy episodes but it will speed up in the last few episodes again. They gave us a pretty decent ending in the episode 34 but they added new subplots and twists (very tragic and heartbreaking) after that and everything felt rushed, including the ending.

This is why Im not giving the highest rating.

My favorite part about this drama is how well written and layered all characters are. There's something special about each one of them and you will feel a special connection.

I am absolutely obsessed with all female characters in this. There's ZERO female characters written as doormats in this series. They are fierce and stoppable and they will all play a key role in the story. The development of all of them, and how they grow through the experiences they are living and the people they meet ( specially Princess Yang Ying) is so thrilling to watch.

And the way they all lift each other up, including the male characters, criticizing stereotypical gender roles and regarding women as equal and important as them. Just wow.

This was my first drama of the both main leads and I am a fan. Liu Shi Shi and Liu Yu Ning had such beautiful chemistry.

Greenest flag award for the main male lead's character. Not one toxic thing about him, and made the main love story very enjoyable to see. I found myself showcasing the biggest smiles when they were flirting each other on screen.

Despite its flaws it was an almost perfect drama, with very wholesome relationships of epic love and friendship and incredible character development.

You will laugh, cry, be surprised and feel the deepest sweetest love so many times. Don't miss this one!
