Commentaire à la une
While "Pare parecchio Parigi" promises an adventurous journey through family dynamics, the reality of the film turns out to be a flat and disappointing experience. Leonardo Pieraccioni, the director and protagonist, attempts to turn a touching anecdote into a comedy, but the end result lacks creative spark and emotional depth. The premise, inspired by a true story of two brothers pretending to take their sick father to Paris, gets lost in the chaos of a disjointed and impactless screenplay. The film follows the events of the Canistracci brothers, portrayed by Pieraccioni, Chiara Francini, and Giulia Bevilacqua, who, despite their differences, decide to fulfil their dying father's last wish: a trip to Paris. However, instead of embarking on an exciting adventure through the French capital, the family finds itself trapped in a vicious circle at Bernardo's stable, one of the brothers. What could have been an opportunity to explore family dynamics and confront their weaknesses turns into a series of bland gags and improbable situations. One of the film's major flaws lies in its inability to fully develop the characters and their relationships, resulting in rather flat and stereotypical outcomes. The dynamics between the brothers are not explored in depth, and their interactions lack authenticity and emotional resonance. Even the attempt to insert comedic elements falls flat and forced, with jokes that fall short and situations that never manage to take off. Furthermore, Pieraccioni's direction fails to give the film the rhythm and cohesion needed to hold it together. Scenes unfold without a clear purpose, and the narrative lacks a defined direction. Even the cinematography and soundtrack, although decent, fail to compensate for the gaps in plot and characterisation. Despite its flaws, "Pare parecchio Parigi" has some bright moments thanks to the performances of the cast. Giulia Bevilacqua, Chiara Francini, and Nino Frassica try to bring their characters to life, although the material at hand is limited. However, even their efforts are not enough to save the film from insignificance. "Pare parecchio Parigi" turns out to be a disappointment for audiences looking for an engaging and meaningful comedy. Despite an interesting premise and a talented cast, the film never manages to take off, leaving the viewer with a sense of emptiness and dissatisfaction. If you're looking for a memorable cinematic experience, I highly recommend looking elsewhere.
