Tough Ain't Enough: Conversations with Albert S. Ruddy

Just LOVED this documentary! This is THE film for film buffs. Al Ruddy is somehow a million things all at once -- funny, wise, smart, cunning, irresistible and, of course, tough. This documentary really captures the times he lived through, the good (and not so good) luck he had, and the crazy realities of Hollywood. Some of his stories are really unbelievable. He definitely knew what he wanted, knew how to get, and knew when he got it. Al, you really got it, and so do the filmmakers of this extraordinary documentary. Can't wait to watch it again and share it with my family and friends! Amazing!

This is a documentary from a producer's point of view, but Al Ruddy is such a likeable character who takes you through the highlights of his work as a producer in Hollywood. With his gravely voice, he tells various stories of how some of his films got made. And every story can be funny or serious and is shot in a way as if he is telling the story just to you.

Ruddy tells us about how he came to Hollywood and worked for Roger Corman. He continues and we learn how he became the producer of "The Godfather" and he still had to prove himself with each and every film project he was involved with.

Al Ruddy gives us a personal look into his Hollywood career and inspires us in how he made several Oscar winning films.
