Incredible homemade low budget production that mixes elements of horror and martial arts action! The fight scenes are super intense and well filmed, the stunts performed by the director/lead actor/composer/writer are extremely well done. He was amazing and this film should have set off a career in the business.
Intense and kept me attention throughout, one of the best low budget shot on vhs films I have ever seen. The cinematography is super ambitious, and again the fight scenes are simply on par with kivkboxer or deadly bet. Even the females in this movie kick ass and kick numerous baddies in the nuts! Wow..,

Fans of the multi talented Jim Van Bebber need to see this DIY produced, directed, and performed action epic by a man named Mark Svetland. An obvious skilled Martial Artist and Blackbelt, Svetland has created a movie very similar to Van Bebber's cult classic "Deadbeat At Dawn." Utilizing an extremely limited budget, Svetland has gathered a cast of professional fighters to act in a standard revenge tale, concerning a Man who goes ballistic when a band of drug dealing thugs cut his sister's throat in a swimming pool, in a scene that could have been lifted from an 80's slasher flick. In the 90's the appearance of the main character wearing the iconic yellow jumpsuit worn by Bruce Lee in "Game of Death" would have seemed corny and silly. But today it comes across as a fantastic nostalgic tribute to the classic films of the 70's. Of course the reason to see "Blood and Steel" is the highly impressive fight sequences that rival the biggest budget Hollywood action films of all time. Basically the actors are really being hit here. At no time does it appear like punches are being pulled. There is even a disclaimer at the end of the film stating that the performers were taking hits! This movie also has a fantastic pacing, with never a dull moment, and with every frame the love and dedication to this project is on full display. As I said, fans of "Deadbeat At Dawn" are going to love this one. It's a mystery as to why it's not more well known...
